With my firstborn, I invited a doula. I loved her—but she wasn’t allowed into my birth space because of regulations.
Postpartum, I called her once… and then I stopped.
I didn’t want to bother her.

We had just moved into a new house, didn’t really have the support we needed,
and honestly thought we could manage it all on our own. Oh boy were we wrong. Did we do it? Yes. Could’ve we done it with more help and would it have been easier? YES.

With our second, it felt completely different.
I invited my mom. I had my midwife, a student midwife, a friend, I let people be there.

And I still hear my midwife’s words so clearly:
“Now it’s your turn to be taken care of.”
I don’t think I fully understood that until then.

Let people take care of you.
Invite the right people in.
Lean on them postpartum.

You’re not a bother. You’re meant to be supported.

And it really does change everything 🌱🌞

Taking care of yourself during pregnancy >>> treating your body like it’s broken

YESSSS some days feel heavy, some days feel magical, and most are somewhere in between…
but none of it means your body is failing you.
It’s learning, stretching, growing 🌞 right alongside you.

When I started this page, I thought it would be all about doula work. But my vision has shifted. Now it’s about connection, openness, and showing up as myself.

I want this space to feel like a conversation with a friend. About motherhood, growth, childhood, and all the little moments that make life feel magical.

I’m here to share, listen, and connect. To remind us that we’re not alone in the cracks and the beauty of motherhood. 🤍

In birth, words land on the nervous system 🤍They either help a mother soften or pull her out of her body.
What supports birth is not instruction. It’s reassurance. It’s steadiness. It’s being met with trust. These words protect the birth portal and help her feel safe!

Save this for your birth space and share it with the person who will hold you there. ✨🤍

Birth is not automatically an emergency.
For most healthy pregnancies, labor is a natural physiological process the body was designed to do.
But many women grow up hearing that birth is something dangerous, unpredictable, and out of their control.

When mothers feel safe, supported, and informed, the body can often do what it was created to do.

This doesn’t mean medical care isn’t important. When complications arise, skilled providers save lives.

But birth deserves to be approached with respect for the body, patience for the process, and support for the mother.

You deserve to feel safe, heard, and supported in your birth✨.

Motherhood was never meant to be done alone.
Somewhere along the way, we were taught to carry it all,to push through, to figure it out, to “just be strong.”

But support isn’t a luxury.
It’s how mothers heal, grow, and feel safe enough to soften.
You deserve to be held, too. ✨🤍

Birth is unpredictable, complex, and sometimes it does need medical support. That’s not the piece that needs fixing.

What needs to change is how women are held through it.
Because too many walk away not from what happened, but from how it felt: unheard, unsupported, alone.

Support in birth is more than presence. It’s being listened to.
It’s feeling safe in your body. It’s having someone stand beside you and speak up when you can’t.

It’s being seen as a whole person, not just a patient.
When support changes, everything changes, even when the birth itself doesn’t.

For slowing down, deep breaths, quiet resonance. 🌞🌿
Motherhood transformed me, but not all at once.
It took time, unraveling, remembering.
This is for the mamas still learning to hold themselves.
Still shifting, still softening, still growing.
You are not meant to do this alone.
You deserve to be held too.

It’s time to put a face to House of Figs 🤍🌿
