🎉 Bryan Stringer, MD ‘18, received three awards over the last year: 🌟 Dr. John D. Brown Memorial Resident Award, Rising Star in Cardiology Resident Education Award, and the Bill Kostick Research Award.

: 🌞 Last month, 113 members of the Learning Community were invited to "Picnic on the Patio," an event designed for members to connect and get to know one another. 🧺 Participants had the opportunity to eat good food and compete in "Med Jeopardy" to test their medical knowledge.

2025 Award Recipient Spotlight: 🌟 Alumni Resident Star Award - Racquel Kaizer, MD '22.

As a young child, a hematologist at the renowned Children’s Hospital in her adopted home of Minnesota changed Dr. Racquel Kaizer’s life. 🏥 The care and experience of her physician inspired Dr. Kaizer’s journey to medicine. Last month, Dhaval Desai, MD ’08, made the trip back to SMX for some time on campus. ✈️🏝️ His trip highlights includes: participated in Dr. Humphrey's impostor syndrome panel, hosted a MedTalk Session – Coming Full Circle: From St. Maarten to the Frontlines, made student connections, joined a Pediatric SIG session with Dr. Patno and had a Wellness Center tour.

Celebrating with a gamer's edge in medicine. 🎮🥼 Sandip Saha, MD '20, credits his gaming experience with enhancing his ability to adopt and master new technologies in interventional pulmonology.

🕹️ “Playing video games—both PC and console—has programmed my brain to work in 3D space,” he says. “When performing navigation bronchoscopies, we rely on the patient’s CT scans to plan our cases and perform intraoperative scans to ensure our tools are on target. Staying on target, without causing harm, is how you know you ‘passed that level.’”
