Knitting & Crocheting For Christ

Knitting & Crocheting For Christ Through my own battle with cancer, God placed this ministry on my heart. What a blessing to be an a We are thrilled to be serving our Lord through this ministry.

What a blessing to be an approved Fellowship Ministry here at Saddleback Church!. This ministry will be serving the homeless, cancer patients, and newborn babies and looks forward to any other opportunity to serve. We provide knitted and crocheted items for these groups such as hats and scarves. Cancer Patients: We provide beanies for cancer patients who are undergoing chemo/radiation treatments. With the loss of your hair, you get pretty cold. We take the beanies to a cancer treatment center in Newport Beach. Homeless: We are currently making hats and scarves for the homeless. At the present time the hats and scarves we are making are serving the homeless in Utah. We knit and crochet all year and make the contribution in November. Baby Love Ministry: We are making baby hats for newborns at San Francisco General Hospital. This hospital is in a very poor part of San Francisco. We are teaming up with Grace Episcopal Church and their Baby Love Ministry. The project is designed to help the neediest of the needy. Each month 135-150 babies are born at San Francisco General Hospital. Forever Footprints: We provide blankets and beanies for the grieving parents who have lost a child. Parents receive a memory box with our gifts and other support materials as they grieve the loss of their loved one. Operation Gratitude: Hundreds of thousands of American Service Members are deployed in hostile and remote regions of the world, including the Middle East, Afghanistan, and on ships throughout international waters. The physical conditions they must endure are difficult and they may be separated from loved ones for long periods of time. Operation Gratitude seeks to lift morale and put smiles on faces by sending care packages addressed to individual Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed overseas. Operation Gratitude care packages contain food, hygiene products, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support. We provide hats and scarves. The scarf requirement is 5-7" wide and under 50" long. Any color is acceptable, but subtle ones are preferred, since most items will be going to guys! The caps are also welcomed. Please include a note in each item, if possible, thanking them for their service, and include a way for them to reach you, as some will want to say thank you---either an e-mail or address.

Happy Mother's Day! Our ministry is blessed to be able to provide gifts for the babies Mom's and to the gifts to honor the aching hearts of Mom's who have lost children.

We honor our Mom's who gave birth to us, the blessing of being Mothers ourselves and to those who have been like a loving Mom to us along our way. God Bless You All

My longtime friend Ann has been such a generous ๐ŸŽsupporter of our ministry. She has made so many yarn donations over the years. She resent found these at a sale and donated them to us.

Someone made them with lots of love and we will be able to bless a baby with them. Thank you so much Annโ€ผ๏ธ and for the amazing work done by the person who made the beanies

Recently we were asked to help a young man with his Eagle Scout Project. I was a Camp Fire Girl, A Girl Scout leader for my daughters who both earned The Silver Award in Girl Scouts so of course we were honored to help him.

His project is coordinating with a local elementary school to provide resources in the event of a lock down.

We provided about 40 small blankets to help comfort kids. He is working on providing other material as supplies to help students and teachers.

What a pure pleasure ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป to meet this young man and provide these cozy blankets to his most worthwhile Eagle Project!

This morning we attended A Walk to Remember sponsored by Forever Footprints ๐Ÿ‘ฃ This event celebrates and honors the lives of angels babies in heaven. Parents and loved ones walk in remembrance of their babies who are in heaven but ever so close in their hearts.

Today also marks the 20th anniversary of the formation of Forever Footprints by Kristyn Von Rotz who lost her son Joseph๐Ÿ’™

This non profit organization has helped millions of families with their grief and loss. Today over 500 names of angels were read in honor and memory of the place they hold so dear in our lives.

Knitting and Crocheting for Christ is honored to lock arms with the incredible staff of Forever Footprints since 2004. We have provided the heart strings that are wrapped around the flowers parents walk with. We have made over 2800 hearts since 2004.

We are also honored to provide blanket and beanies for their beautiful Memory Boxes.

Since a bit before the pandemic, we have not been able to meet inside a building. We use to meet at a senior retirement place and were so grateful all the years we were able to meet in their beautiful facility

Since then we have been meeting at Saddleback Church outside in the patio. At times the weather has been difficult, but we preserved

Today I was overwhelmed that my dear friend/member Kathy was able to secure an inside room for us to meet in-at our church! Such an answer to prayers

We hope that having an meeting place that is inside will allow more of our members to come without battling the elements while serving

We had a new member join us. Here name is Charolette. She also learned a new stitch from Bridget and it looks amazing.

A grateful and full heart! God is so so good
