ABLE Accounts for the WIN!

ABLE Accounts for the WIN!

ABLE accounts are going to be an option for a whole lot more people beginning January 1st!

ABLE accounts make it possible for people with disabilities to save up money without endangering important benefits they need. To qualify for an ABLE account, a person's disability has to begin before age 26. Starting January 1st, that age limit will raise to age 46!

ABLE accounts allow tax-free withdrawals for qualified expenses. So long as you don't exceed the max, there are no negative impacts on government benefits like Medicaid.

By Montana Families, For Montana Families

The Montana Family to Family Health Information Center (MT F2F HIC) is led by families of children with special health care needs. It’s hard. And if you’re interested in this page, you already know that. Our F2F is all about finding resources in Montana, and sharing those discoveries. We’re about lifting each other up, and sparing another family some hardship with tips and information gained through hard-won experience. To become a trusted and valued resource, we need to hear from you. What resources have you found helpful? Do you find valuable support in online groups and web sites? What has been your greatest frustration in getting your child the care or therapy he needs? Are you looking for face-to-face connection with other families traveling the same path? Let’s build this Center together, letting our needs shape and define it. Welcome! We’re glad you’re here.
