Managing a farm can be physically taxing, but at least I am getting my exercise! I spent all day Tuesday and part of Wednesday morning raking up pine straw and using it to mulch the gardens. Mulch will help conserve water and help manage weeds.

Some of my sunflowers are dying. Last week, I sent two of them to Auburn University for diagnostic testing. These are wild muscadine grapes that I found in my back-yard. These are not the muscadines that I am growing in my vineyard. These are growing in the wild and I have never seen them produce fruit before.

If you look closely, you can see the tiny, baby grape clusters. I'm not sure if these are red or white grapes. I'm going to leave them alone and see what happens as they grow in the summer. If they are large size, I might just take some cuttings and transplant them into the vineyard next year.
