Next week the MABAS 43 Peer Support Team will be hosting retired Oklahoma City Firefighter Chris Fields who will present his “Out of the chaos” message. He will deliver his message to the MABAS 43 Division to help our first responders better deal with our mental health and embrace hope. Thank you to the MABAS Chiefs for their continued support of our mission. Thank you 1-800 board up for your generosity and also supporting this endeavor. We are honored to host Mr Fields next week and believe our members will benefit greatly from his message.

What hobbies do you have? Weightlifting, Soccer
How did you get into your line of work? I had gotten hospital experience and decided I
wanted to explore emergency medicine
What did you think you were going to be when you grew up? I thought I was going to be a
pro soccer player, or be a physical therapist for a sports team
Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person or those people
teach you? My parents have been the biggest influence on my life due to the sacrifices they
made for me to get where I am today and being the best role models and life coaches I could
ever ask for.

Have you done any other professions other than Fire? I’ve been a Lifeguard, a dockworker,
and most recently worked with kids who have autism
What hobbies do you have? Disc golf, video games, boating, and watching pro wrestling
What did you think you were going to be when you grew up? When I was a kid I thought I
would do something around the water or with boats as a career
Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person or those people
teach you? The person who had the biggest influence on my life is my dad Dan Flynn. My
dad throughout my life has always shown me through words and actions how a man and a
caring person should act. He instilled within me a caring and nonjudgmental approach to the
world. This has made me the man I am today and has driven me to find a career in which I can
do as much good as possible.

How did you get into your line of work? I always wanted to be a firefighter as a kid, I also
wanted to be Batman so I figured this was the closest I could get lol
What did you think you were going to be when you grew up? I thought I was going to be a
professional fighter and travel the world
Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person or those people
teach you? I would say my dad was a huge influence on my life. He taught me how to be a
good man, that working hard is always free, and integrity is something you uphold every day.

What hobbies do you have? My favorite hobbies are working out and playing with my dog Max.
How did you get into your line of work? My stepdad is a Moline firefighter, and he told me
all the amazing things about his job, and it really intrigued me.
What did you think you were going to be when you grew up? I wanted any type of job that
allowed me to help my community.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person or those people
teach you? My dad, stepdad, and brother; my dad Joe taught me many things, but the best is
how to be a hardworking man. My stepdad Eric, because I followed in his footsteps and became
a Moline firefighter just like him. And my brother Draven taught me how to be disciplined while
working out and taught me how to work out.
