Journey Together Through Grief Grief groups, individual sessions and lunch learning sessions facilitating recovery in grief

As we move towards the holidays, honoring, remembering and telling our stories of grief and mourning are important. Dr. Alan Wolfelt writes this, “When we are in mourning, we heal ourselves as we tell the tale. This is the awesome power of the story. Yet, in our fast-paced, efficiency-based culture, which often lacks an understanding the role of hurt in healing, many people do not understand the value of storyIng. Honoring stories requires that we slow down, turn inward and embrace our own and other’s pain. Listening to stories filled with sadness and grief is often not tolerated in a culture that collectively avoids these emotions whenever possible. Still, the need to tell the story and have it heard prevails.”

It’s Valentine’s Day. A painful reminder of our loss! Grief support in a sacred space provides healing in the journey ahead of you. It’s a time of telling a story we have had with our loved ones! Healing does takes place, but over time. There’s no closure to grief but integrating loss does eventually come. It’s in honoring, remembering and telling their story that helps us cope with the painful emotions we now have.

The next support group begins Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:00 am March 5th & every Tuesday through April 9th at 1802 8th St. Contact Sue at 608-206-6916 by text or phone. I am looking forward to companioning you on this path that you are now on.
