A father took a picture of his daughter next to a horse, but when he looked at it more closely, he couldn’t believe what he saw.

Whether it’s a baptism, wedding, vacation, or just a normal day, photos are a great way to capture memories. We’ve all heard a photographer say, “I want to see you smiling!” to get the best shot, even if the person isn’t feeling happy.

A photographer can work hard to take a great picture, but sometimes, they end up with one that’s so good, it gets talked about for days.

That’s exactly what happened to this little girl. What started as a normal family day turned into something special when she took a picture with a horse.

According to Time Magazine, the photo was first shared on Reddit, and it quickly went viral. The little girl was enjoying a nice day with her family, spending time near some Clydesdale horses, known for their size and beauty.

She was probably a little scared of getting too close to the horses at first, but then she gathered her courage and stood in front of one. She smiled and waited for her dad to take the photo.

“Smile,” her dad said, and as soon as he took the picture, they had no idea what would happen next.

When they looked at the photo, the dad was shocked by what they saw. The horse, a Clydesdale, is a breed that comes from Scotland. These horses are big, strong, and very smart. This particular horse seemed to grin right when the camera went off!

After being shared online, the picture became famous and was even named one of the best photos of 2016 by BuzzFeed. It’s clear that the girl’s family loves this funny and unexpected picture, and so do we!

As she stood in front of her 5th-grade class on the very first day of school, she told the children an untruth. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. However, that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.
Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he did not play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy, and that he constantly needed a bath. In addition, Teddy could be unpleasant.
It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's, and then putting a big "F" at the top of his papers.
At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's past records and she put Teddy's off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.
Teddy's first-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners... he is a joy to be around.."
His second-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well-liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness, and life at home must be a struggle."
His third-grade teacher wrote, "His mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."
Teddy's fourth-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and he sometimes sleeps in class."
By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy's. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper That he got from a grocery bag Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing and a bottle that was one-quarter full of perfume.. But she stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed after school that day just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my Mom used to." After the children left, she cried for at least an hour.
On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children. Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children the same, Teddy became one of her "teacher's pets.."
A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling* her that she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in life.
Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and favorite teacher he had ever had in his whole life.
Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now his name was a little longer.... The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, MD.
The story does not end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he had met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit at the wedding in the place that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom.
Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. Moreover, she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together.
They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear, "Thank you Mrs. Thompson for* believing in me. Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."
Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, "Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn't know how to teach until I met you."
(For you that don't know, Teddy Stoddard is the Dr. at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines that has the Stoddard Cancer Wing.)
Warm someone's heart today. . . pass this along. I love this story so very much, I cry every time I read it. Just try to make a difference in someone's life today? tomorrow? Just "do it".
Random acts of kindness, I think they call it?
"Believe in Angels, then return the favor."

🤣🤣🤣A little three year old boy is sitting on the toilet. His mother thinks he has been in there too long, so she goes in to see what's up. The little boy is sitting on the toilet reading a book. But about every ten seconds or so he puts the book down, grips on to the toilet seat with his left hand and hits himself on top of the head with his right hand. His mother says, “Billy, are you all right? You've been in here for a while…”
Billy says, “I'm fine, Mommy…i just haven't gone 'doodoo' yet."
Mother says, “ Okay, you can stay here a few more minutes. But, Billy, why are you hitting yourself on the head?"
Billy says, “ Works for ketchup."

They are all elderly people sent to retirement homes. Among them, on the far left, is Bernard. Today is his 89th birthday. The little cake in front of him, he does not know who has prepared it, nor if someone will wish him a happy birthday. 🎂

Bernard has three children, but he hasn’t seen them in a long time. They brought him here saying it was for his own good. But time passed, and the phone never rang again... Bernard says: I’m not angry, but I’m sad.

What hurts me is not their absence, but the fact that, despite their departure, I continue to love them in the depths of my heart. 💔 I do not ask for much, just a simple attention: a word, an embrace, a simple “Papa, happy birthday”.

Today, I would like someone to think of me. Not because you know me, but because sometimes even a stranger can bring some warmth into the silence.

At my age, we live on memories and hope. Today, I hope that this message will touch the hearts of those who forget to cherish love before it is too late.

To all parents, I send my tender thoughts. You are loved, even if no one tells you.❤️

The first time I left my oldest child was for an overnight wedding. I had to go, but I was a total mess.

I was worried sick that something would happen to my one-year-old baby and really didn’t want to leave him for even an hour, let alone twenty-four.

My husband reassured me that I needed to learn how to leave him, and he promised that my father-in-law, my son’s grandfather, would take care of him, even if it wasn't exactly how I would.

He reminded me that our son would be in good hands. When I got back home, all I could say was that both big and small hands were covered in chocolate.

In just 24 hours, my son picked up a new word, "choc," bringing his vocabulary to three words. He couldn’t say “Grandad,” but he sure could say “choc.”

When my father-in-law saw my surprise at feeding chocolate to a baby, he explained in his soft Irish accent that Cadbury made their Chocolate Buttons tiny so that little hands could manage them.

He seemed to suggest that Cadbury knew better what my child should eat than I did. I don’t think I took that very well.

If I had been in a better mood, I might have realized that day that I still had a lot to learn.

This is what my father-in-law has done with my kids.

He has dressed two of them in each other’s clothes and never even noticed. They’re not twins!

He has put them in each other’s diapers, so one child was swimming in a diaper way too big, and the other had leaks everywhere. Remember, they’re still not twins!

He helped my eleven-year-old son dye his brown hair bright blonde, and it took two trips to the hairdresser to get it back to brown before school in September.

I lost the chocolate battle early on, and to this day, he shows up at my door with one suitcase of clothes and another full of candy.

My father-in-law has played soccer, cricket, golf, and football with my kids, even though he doesn’t know how to throw a football or even how to hold one.

He’s taken them bike riding and fruit picking.

He has taught them to plant vegetables and even bet on racehorses.

He has laughed with them at Tom and Jerry and sung along with Barney.

He has chased after soccer balls for hours while my boys practiced shot after shot, usually missing the goal completely.

He has taken them to parks, zoos, movies, and playgrounds. He even took them river rafting, which is pretty heroic since he doesn’t know how to swim.

When they were little, he would wake up with them long before the sun, sneak them out of their beds or cribs so quietly that my husband and I would sleep right through it. He’d get them in the stroller and take them to the park.

By the time they returned, they had already been out for breakfast. There was syrup in their hair and bits of pancake stuck to their clothes, yet I would have happily slept until 9:00.

My father-in-law introduced them to their first piece of chocolate and their first pint of beer, and he was there for everything in between.

He has shown them how to use every power tool sold at Home Depot, and they’ve taught him to play dorm room drinking games.

I’m not sure who’s learned more.

And now, nearly twenty years later, my grown-up sons look forward to every visit from him and beg him to come back as he leaves.

So what did I finally learn? We learn how to be grandparents while we’re still just parents.

Even when our kids are tiny, long before we can imagine having grandkids, we’re watching and learning from those who have been parents longer than we have. He has shown me how to be there for the grandchildren I might have one day.

This is what my father-in-law has done for me. He has taught me how to be a grandparent.

When I get there, I know I’ll be ready.

While I was figuring out motherhood, he was quietly teaching me how to be a grandmother.

On some blessed day in the future, with a beautiful grandchild in my arms, I’ll remember that a little chocolate never hurt a child, and that there’s nothing, absolutely nothing, more important than being there for your grandchild.

A waitress, Sarah, at a restaurant in the United States, presented a lunch menu to a couple. Before they even looked at the menu, they told her to recommend the two cheapest dishes because they didn't have enough money. They had been struggling financially for months.

Sarah didn't hesitate. She suggested two dishes, and they agreed without hesitation, assuming they were the cheapest. They quickly ate their meal, and before leaving, they asked Sarah for the bill. She returned with a piece of paper on which she had written: "I paid your bill from my personal account as a gift. This is a $100 gift from me, and this is the least I can do. Thank you for coming. Sincerely, Sarah."

As they left the restaurant, the couple was overjoyed. What surprised Sarah was that, despite her own financial struggles, she felt immense joy in paying the couple's bill. She had been saving money for almost a year to buy an automatic washing machine because her old one was causing her a lot of trouble. However, what hurt her the most was when her friend scolded her for helping others instead of prioritizing her own needs.

During this conversation, Sarah received a call from her mother, who shouted at her: "Sarah, what have you done?" Sarah replied timidly, "I didn't do anything. What happened?" Her mother responded, "Facebook is praising you and your actions. The couple you helped posted your message on Facebook, and many people shared it. I'm proud of you."

As soon as Sarah finished talking to her mother, a friend from school called her, indicating that her message had gone viral on all digital social platforms. When Sarah opened her Facebook account, she received hundreds of messages from television producers and press reporters asking her to meet and discuss her actions.

The next day, Sarah appeared on one of the most popular and widely watched American television shows. The presenter gave her a luxurious washing machine, a modern television set, and $10,000. She also received a $5,000 purchase voucher from an electronics company. Gifts poured in, and the amount she received in praise of her great humanitarian gesture exceeded $100,000.

Two meals costing a few dollars plus $100 changed her life. Charity isn't about giving away something you don't need; it's about giving away something you need to someone who needs it more. True poverty is the poverty of humanity and attitudes.

Today is a special day! I visited the shelter, a place where so many lost souls wait for a second chance. Among all the pleading eyes and tiny paws trembling behind bars, I spotted him. He sat in the corner of his cage, head down, looking lifeless. He didn’t bark or jump; he didn’t ask for anything. It was like he had accepted his fate, as if he knew no one would come for him.

They shared his story with me. They found him wandering the streets, skinny, with matted fur, scared of every little sound. He had experienced hunger, cold, and abandonment. The shelter staff took care of him and fed him, but his heart still seemed broken. He watched other dogs leave day after day while he remained forgotten.

I knelt down in front of him. He didn’t lift his head right away, like he no longer believed anyone would choose him. So, I reached out, whispered his name, and that’s when I saw it—a tiny flicker of hope in his tired eyes. In that moment, I knew I couldn’t leave without him.

The car ride was quiet. He sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window, his eyes wide as if he were discovering a world he thought was lost. Occasionally, he glanced at me, as if checking to see if this was real.

Now, he has a home. Now, he has a name. Now, he has a family. And he’ll never have to wonder if someone will come for him again—because I’m here. Forever.
