INSPIRD Nutrition & Mental Health Counseling stands firmly in support of all immigrants in our Pittsburgh community and across the United States, and we strongly condemn discrimination, xenophobia, and fascist policies that target, harm, detain, and deport individuals based on their immigration status and ethnicity.

The rights, dignity, well-being, and safety of immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers should be unequivocally protected – full stop.
No human being is illegal. “Legality” is not a moral standard because the laws of this country have repeatedly failed to protect and purposefully set out to harm the most marginalized, oppressed groups throughout history.

Our practice is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves safety and respect.
We will continue to advocate for and stand with our clients and our community, ensuring they receive and are connected with the support, healing, and protection they deserve.
INSPIRD reaffirms our commitment to using the utmost discretion with our clients’ sensitive and private information to keep medical documentation and records as safe as possible.

Silence on this issue is taking a stance, and we owe it to our clients, our community, and our fellow humans to be firm in our values as practice.
We urge our colleagues in healthcare to also use their voices and do the same.

Happy Pride to our clients, our clinicians, and our Pittsburgh community. Pride is many things — a celebration of love, q***r joy, and transcending beyond the rigid, limiting cishet societal norms of our world. Pride is also a protest and acknowledgement of the fight that q***r people still have to this day. At INSPIRD, we will always stand beside you and fight with you, especially our BIPOC trans and gender non-conforming communities, to be safe, held, and free.
Food and body liberation do not exist without q***r and trans liberation. We love you ❤️

We are eager to announce the launch of our virtual eating disorder recovery support groups!

At INSPIRD, we recognize that community and connection are vital in the pursuit of healing, well-being, safety, and liberation for all. Led by Jocelyne Laplanche, IEDS, our support groups are designed to provide supportive, peer-led spaces where individuals with eating disorders can share experiences and encourage one another on their individual journeys.

We're currently offering two peer-led support groups that meet on an every other week basis. Please see the attached flyers, as well as our website (www.inspirdnutrition.com/groups), to learn more and register!

Our team members who have held CEDS/CEDS-S credentials and memberships have chosen to no longer support this organization financially or through the work we do as eating disorder professionals. Iaedp, as an organization, does not align with the values we hold as individuals and as a company. We are extremely disappointed in their unwillingness to take accountability and make changes that have been requested by their members and BIPOC clinicians in the field. We strongly believe in the importance of providers with privileged identities divesting from this organization and the CEDS credential.
