We are so excited to have Virgil's Plants & Produce join us for the first of many monthly Mid Chambers Market on October 25, 2025 from 9 am to Noon!

If you are looking for plant starts on your winter garden, candles, tea pouches and more!

We are pleased and proud to be a part of the Winnie Farmers Market tomorrow , October 18th, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. We will offer the following plants:

Choi sum (a Chinese spinach variety)
Collards
Dwarf tomatoes
Mustards
Sugar snap peas

We will also have our scented candle selections, the perfect gift--to yourself or to others.

Finally, I've convinced myself that if I pour enough effort into making teas like our hibiscus roselle (pictured here), the weather will cool off. If you love a healthy concoction that tastes reminiscent of Kool-aid, this is it! We will have other flavors as well.

Train up a child...

I love seeing the littlest of us fall in love with plants. It took us only a couple of generations to totally lose our mastery of gardening and growing our own. My hope is that it will take less than that to reintroduce this life skill to a generation that will need it even more critically than we do.

Lots of sniffing and sorting of soooooo many everyday fragrances going on lately. We have had to change our candle maker and consequently, our scents will change. We still have a very limited supply of our original candles. Yet, we hope you enjoy the new scents as much as we do!

What's your surprise crop this season? Ours is our Aphrodite cantaloupe (courtesy of Twilley seeds). We pulled our first one too early, and then grabbed this one a little later, but before something else got to it. My hand, which isn't small, is here for reference--I just hope it is as flavorful as it is HUGE!!
