We LOVE all things grown ass women around here. And from time to time, you'll see us highlight faces that you know and love as a reminder of the brilliance, diversity & beauty of women 35+.

Enter Marina Silva. 65 years old.

Marina Silva is a Brazilian politician and environmentalist who was a central figure in deforestation protests in the 1980's. She went on to get involved on a political level and helped decrease forestation by 59% in the 2000's.

Silva currently serves as Brazil's Minister of the Environment.

GROWN ASS WOMEN UNITE.

Oh hello new folks joining us. How’d you find us? And where are you located?

My name is Cyndie .
I’m the founder of this platform & community.

I live in Montclair, NJ with my hot husband and two cats. Stick around long enough and you’ll get to know all of them, too.

I wrote a book called A Year of Positive Thinking and so far, over 130,000 folks have purchased it...in the US alone.

For “work,” I speak on large stages and facilitate workshops and talks for events, brands and conferences.

I created this community because it didn’t exist. We are an inclusive community of women 35+. We come from different backgrounds, cultures and experiences. We show up vulnerably and honestly. We laugh. We cry. We discuss, discourse and learn. We evolve, together.

I invite you to join our community.

Join us for the powerful discourse and stay for the deep friendships.

Come on in.

**General A’s for your Q’s**

🔸We are NOT an online only forum who speaks only through Facebook posts.

🔸We gather (virtually on Zoom for now) multiple times a week and do everything from Grown Ass GameNights to Leadership Circles and Cooking Classes. Our in-person gatherings are starting up again this month.

🔸Most of our members are located throughout the US and Canada. They run the gamut from SAHMama’s to doctors, lawyers, designers and coaches. Ery’one is loved on here.

🔸Events are scheduled throughout the day to accommodate most time zones.

🔸 Yes, I am actually in the community often.

Real talk: where else can you meet a truly inclusive community of grown ass lady friends as an adult?!

Have questions? Ask away. I look forward to meeting you soon.

xx Cyndie

Dear Grown Ass Women,
So many new faces around here. I thought I’d come out from behind the curtain to say hello.❤️💗

I’m Cyndie, the 43-year old founder of Dear Grown Ass Womwn™️. I’ve created this membership community for us, for YOU. 🖤

I have grey hair amongst my pink and blonde highlights, I’ve had botox (and loved it) and I also love clean beauty & meditate like a mo********er. Both this...and that.

I believe that we change the world when we commune with folks who are different than we are: socio-economically, experientially, racially and honestly, in all ways.

Whenever I am asked how you know if this community is for you, my answer is this “If all of your friends look or sound like you, then you should join us.” Inclusion matters.

I grew up on welfare in NJ and was the first one in my family to go to college. My parents were in a mixed race relationship when it was barely legal in this country. I’m a half black, half white Jew and the youngest of four.
I know the power of community and I also understand the value of surrounding yourself with women who have different experiences: you get uncomfortable, you learn, you grow, you teach, you have fun and you become an even more powerful, empathetic woman because of this.
And that, sisters, is what happens with our members.

Here in DGAW™️, we don’t really give a s**t what you do as long as you do it FOR YOU because you chose to freely and sans judgement.

All our members are women 35+ and we needed our own space for women to come together in wit, wisdom, knowledge and f**kery.

Our membership community is *actually* diverse and we represent an incredibly powerful way to be in community with other women 35+. We have intellectual conversations and ridiculous ones, too. A lot of laughter, sometimes tears, continuous learning and genuine friendships.

Our entire platform is virtual right now and in the last few weeks we’ve hosted Movie Nights, Crafternoons, and even a Member-led Leadership session.

Join us.

We have a “Pay What You Can” membership option starting at $10/month because I trust that you will, in fact, pay what you can afford.

Welcome, friends. x

Take a stand and support Black women.

February is Black history month and in honor of Black women, we're running a limited edition PAY BLACK WOMEN sweatshirt (our first sweatshirt ever!) in heathered grey and white.

On average, Black women in the U.S. are paid 38% less than white men and 21% less than white women. Let’s do our part to change that.

1. Pay Black women. Don’t try to negotiate us down or work for free.

2. Order this sweatshirt. While you proudly wear it, use it as a catalyst to share this information with other people.

3. Diversify your social media feed: Follow Black women to learn other perspectives

4. Join our Dear Grown Ass Women membership community, founded by a Black woman, to create a space for truly diverse discourse and conversations.

NOTE:
We will donate 10% of all profits to Therapy for Black Girls at the end of February.🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Well hey there. I don’t know we’ve officially met yet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m Eunice, one of the DGAW Ambassadors along with .no4 and I’m taking over this account today!

Please peep on my ambassador profile a little more down this feed to get the full scoop.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m 41 and live in Denver, and I’m a writer and speaker. Here are 5 random facts about me:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⛰ Colorado was my first love. I moved here in 2005 after my divorce and I don’t think I will ever leave, other than to collect a passport stamp here and there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🧠 I have many talents, including marketing, photography, and writing, but my favorite is my ability to remember all sorts of useless knowledge while absolutely not being able to remember why I walked into the kitchen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤱🏽 I’m a solo parent (gotta thank a fellow DGAW member for teaching me that term) to a 14 year old daughter who is (mostly) amazing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🗳 I never considered myself a political person, but I am proud as hell to be the Board Chair for and I am so pleased with the election protection work we did in 2020.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏔 I grew up in the part of Arizona where it snows, and most people don’t know that it snows in AZ.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m going to drop an ask me anything into stories, so if there’s still something you’re curious about (either about me or the DGAW community), hit me up!

How do you organize your supplies? I love organizing my art supplies! They are organized by use then color. It makes me want to create all the time! I’m not into a messy space. Just doesn’t work for me.

I believe my supplies are just as important as the items I create. I respect them. Some have been giving to me from special folks who’ve supported my journey. That’s important to me.

With age comes wisdom. Put some respect on it🙌🏽

I said what I said. As grown ass ladies we gotta say what we mean and mean what we say. No excuses.

I said this quote while a call and someone said that loved my Dayle-isms! This quote lives on my wall of some my favorite quotes. Just a little reminder to keep it real.

Can you relate? What are some truths you want to share? I would love to read them.

Who Are We?

We are a generation of multifaceted, badass women and our time is NOW to have a space that reflects the diversity of who we are.

We are old enough to know that we don’t have all the answers and brilliant enough to use humor, courage and a whole lot of face cream [and swear words] to get through each day gracefully.

We recognize that women evolve considerably as early as 35 (not only at 50+) and many folks seem to forget that as spaces emerge for non-Millennial women.

We live comfortably within contradictions and recognize that the world is black, white and grey. We seek out diversity, discourse and knowledge even more than we do a gorgeous latte or a perfectly fitting pair of jeans. [And that says a whole lot…because jeans!]
