Vote them out

Two Republican elected officials — Nancy Mace and Ronny Jackson — have now openly called for the institutionalization of transgender people in the United States.

Let that sink in.

This isn’t a bad-faith policy disagreement. This isn’t concern trolling about children. This is full-on dehumanization. These are statements ripped straight from the darkest chapters of history — when LGBTQ people were labeled mentally ill, locked away, and experimented on. When the N***s sent q***r people to the camps alongside Jews, Romani people, and the disabled.

We are watching history repeat itself in real time, and far too many people are still silent.

Years ago, my brilliant friend Brynn warned that this was coming. She wrote about it in detail — how the rhetoric would escalate, how the policies would follow, how the public would become numb to cruelty if it was dressed up as “concern.” And still, people ignored her warnings. They didn’t want to believe it could ever get this bad in America.

But it is this bad. And it’s getting worse.

Major media outlets are barely covering what’s happening. Most Americans don’t even know that multiple Republican members of Congress are now calling for trans people to be removed from society.

So it’s up to us.

We have to sound the alarm. We have to make people see what’s happening. And we have to protect our trans loved ones — because they are scared. And they have every reason to be.

Check in on your trans friends. Speak up even when it feels risky. Don’t wait for things to get worse to care.

This is the moment to be brave. Loud. Unafraid. Because silence is complicity — and complicity kills.

Preparing for Possible Pause in Care at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics
Dear Families,

As you may have heard, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is expected to announce a new ruling soon. This ruling would mean that any provider who participates in the Medicaid program would not be able to provide gender-affirming care to those under the age of 19.

We want to make sure your family is prepared if this change takes effect at children’s hospitals, clinics, and other providers

Please take the following steps right away:
Prescriptions: Reach out to your provider and request a full year’s supply of medication if possible. Insurance will likely not cover this much at once, but you may be able to pay cash and costplusdrugs or GoodRx (google It) to lower costs. You can also try shopping around for an affordable pharmacy—some pharmacies such as Costco often charge less than others like CVS.

Lab Work: If your child is due for lab work soon, please schedule and complete it now.

Blockers: If your child currently has a blocker, we are hopeful the provider will still be able to monitor care and remove blockers when needed. However, if this ruling takes effect, providers would not be able to place a new blocker.

Other Providers: If your child sees a provider outside of a hospital or clinic and they participate in the Medicaid or Medicare program, please take the same steps now.

Young Adults (19+): At this time, care for those 19 and older is expected to remain unchanged.

Pre-Puberty: For children who are pre-pubescent, please know this is expected to be a pause in care, not an end. This ruling will be challenged in the legal system, and we are hopeful that care will be able to resume while the case works its way through the courts.

We are working closely with our statewide and national partners and leadership to identify providers who do not participate in Medicaid and who would still be able to deliver this vital care. We expect to have more information to share with you in the coming weeks.

We know this is stressful, but we want to reassure you that we are walking alongside you through these changes. Please reach out directly to your provider for medical questions,

We also encourage you to stay connected by attending Parent Support Groups and joining online parent email groups. These are safe spaces to share experiences, get support, and receive timely updates as things develop.

in June, Judge Kobick certified two classes of passport holders and expanded the preliminary injunction to include any class member applying to:
Obtain a new passport,
Change the s*x designation or update their name on their current passport
Replace a lost, stolen, or damaged passport, or
Renew their passport within one year of its expiration.
