As summer approaches, more families are spending time around pools, lakes, and water — which makes water safety more important than ever.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of injury in children, and it can happen quickly and quietly.

A few important reminders for families:
✔ Always provide close, active supervision around water
✔ Avoid distractions when watching children
✔ Start swim lessons early to build confidence and skills
