October is Physical Therapy Month!

We’re celebrating our incredible therapy team who helps residents regain strength, confidence, and independence every single day.

Ed’s Journey Home! After a 7-day hospital stay due to increased back pain and a decline in mobility, Ed was admitted to WeCare @ Sycamore needing significant support with walking, transfers, bathing, and dressing.

Through dedicated physical and occupational therapy, and with adjustments to his medications, Ed began to make real progress. He worked hard, stayed hopeful, and his determination paid off!

Today, Ed is walking 150 feet with only supervision, navigating stairs, and needs far less help with daily tasks. He’s especially proud of how far he’s come, and so are we.

Ed shared his heartfelt thanks to his wife of 63 years, Maryann, for never missing a day by his side, and to Priya from our therapy team, for believing in him every step of the way.

“I’m most excited about seeing my animals and having home-cooked meals—especially with the holidays coming,” Ed shared with a smile.

Ed’s journey is a reminder of the strength within each of our residents, and the power of care, compassion, and community.
