With all there is to read online, its hard to find something that hits you in the heart and gut at the same time. But look! Here it is. Now keep going.

Our motherhood experience is a series of adventures we choose. We are the authors. We are the writers of the story. In difficult times, do you laugh or cry, sing or s***k? In easy times do you praise yourself or call it luck? It's our choice.

Hello friends!
I am thrilled to announce that after nearly a year of work, I have finally secured a program at Washington County Mental Health that offers free-to-them childbirth education, birth and postpartum doula services! Any woman who is eligible, or whose child is eligible, for WCMHS services can access this program. Feeling very proud to be part of an organization that recognizes the value of this support. Questions? Message me or find me tomorrow at the Good Beginnings Expo!

World Doula week is coming to a close, and I have been thinking all week about what it means to me to be a doula. It's a bit crazy, sometimes even harried, often a test of patience, humbling, addicting, and leaves me total awe. For four years I have been plugging away learning how to incorporate this calling into my life. I have a lot of people to thank for helping me along the way-an incredible mentor (Katherine Bramhall), amazing teachers (Julie Brill),my doula-sister-wife-unicorn-friend Ann Tohill Williamson) and of course the mothers and families who welcome me into their most sacred moments, but most of all I have my husband. Without his complete support there is NO WAY I could even attempt this. He picks up the slack, changes his work schedule, and lives with lots of unknowns. He knows way more about birth than he probably ever imagined he would (and he likes it!). Greg Noyes I could not ask for a better partner. I am so , grateful. xo

Learning is amazing.

The latest scientific research is now starting to indicate that if the baby is not properly seeded with the mother's own bacteria at birth, then the baby's microbiome, in the words of Rodney R Dietert, Professor of Immunotoxicology at Cornell University, is left "incomplete". Consequently, that baby...

Dear friends,
A sweet family is new to Vermont and is feeling overwhelmed. They are expecting their fourth child in a few weeks and have virtually no natural supports. Family and friends are hundreds of miles away are financially stretched thin. In loving support, we are asking for prepared meals to bring them. Anyone who has had a new baby knows how invaluable this support is. Are you making soup this week? Would you be able to make a little more? They have no dietary restrictions and three small children. Anything that freezes well is welcome and deeply appreciated.
