✨Seeking RN Birth Assistant for the Summer!!✨
Middle Way Midwifery is searching for a RN who is interested in being a birth assistant for a busy home birth practice this summer! I have 14 predicted births from the end of April thru August 2026 (could end up being more or less if people transfer in or out) (I may need help in March as well which would be 17 predicted births). I am needing a reliable, consistent, well-skilled birth assistant to ensure my clients have a safe home birth with an experienced, loving team. This opportunity could go beyond the end of August as September consults are coming in as well, currently.
These births are across 5 counties, so living in a central location with reliable transportation and comfortability with driving in all weather, at all times of the night, is an absolute must and a non-negotiable.
Obviously, bonus points for labor and delivery experience along with emergency medicine experience. Experience with being on call is also a big bonus.
We will run consistent drills and ensure comfortability with equipment and model of care.

Most importantly, you MUST trust the inherent nature of physiologic birth and have a deep understanding and respect that home birth is a safe decision for many.

BRB crying 😭 What a share from such a beautiful, strong, woman! 😍

“Jaime is an excellent midwife. I’m so happy I was blessed to be under her care. She truly cares about her clients and really listens, she offers advice that comes from a place of love, and she’s skilled at what she does. Truly a wise woman with a beautiful energy about her!
Home birth is definitely an amazing and empowering experience. It wasn’t my first choice tbh, I never really considered it at first. BUT I’m SO glad I did. And if I were to ever get pregnant again, I would choose home birth all over again- with Jaime at my side!
My first birthing experience was in the hospital... And it was not a great one. A bit traumatic actually. So come my second pregnancy I knew I didn’t want to give birth in the hospital ever again, and I found a birth center. That experience was really good and I was happy with it. Fast forward to my recent pregnancy with my 3rd child, and the birthing center I had previously used was closed down, to my dismay! So I was preparing to have to give birth in the hospital again. I thought a home birth was too far out of reach because of the out of pocket cost. But nearing the end of my pregnancy, I knew I did not want to go through the hospital again and it was causing me a great deal of anxiety. I got in touch with Jaime in my 3rd trimester, and she was so helpful. She graciously took me on, and worked with what I could do financially, offering payment options and being super patient and understanding as I paid her off through the last couple months of my pregnancy. The birth experience itself was truly a beautiful experience. It was messy, bloody and obviously painful but the sheer joy and relief that came after my sweet boy arrived could not compare to any high in the world! And Jaime was there for me, guiding me the whole way as I pushed for at least an hour to get my baby out! His head was sideways and the pushing was long and painful but he finally came. I could not have gone through it without Jaime’s support. Thank you Jaime! Much much love for you and what you do. ~Stacey xoxo”

Today a client walked into the new space and said - this space feels like it’s our way as women to finally say WE TAKE UP SPACE. WE ARE HERE!

Ah yes, my mantra of the last few years that has guided me:
“Midwifery is no longer done in the shadows”

But the greatness of these inner wisdoms are that they also teach me the quiet whisper of “Mhmm. Yes Jaime. AND”

In the normal humor of this work, this mantra was also met with the profound Knowing that so much of what I’ve been witnessing lately is also the secret of the Sacred. It’s ours and no one else’s. We don’t need to use our birth stories to prove something. We don’t need to explain our choices. Despite the common misconception, I’m actually not here to sell you on something.

In the same breath I scream from the rooftops that we are HERE, I then breathe relief that we collectively experienced something truly Divine, and it’s no. ones. business.

The juxtaposition of Midwifery. How wise she is.

I reminded my student immediately that these are the same conversations and wisdoms and revelations that used to get Midwives killed. Burned. Drowned. Chastised away from their community.

Those 3am whispers of “How is she doing?”. Those 10pm reminders of “Yes. You are doing it. Stay with me.” The taste of that tincture. The floors that hold the tears of new parents who just watched God enter their bedroom.

I am a mere Observer.
In the chaos of the world, there is, and will always be, Birth.
