Wellness Arts Center Receives Grant
Wellness Arts Center in Montrose was among 5 organizations that were awarded a generous grant through the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains’ recent Women Helping Women brunch. Wellness Arts Center director, Charm Goff Giangrieco accepted the award. With grant funds, Charm is able to develop and offer “Self-Care Matters” a 90-minute women’s mini-retreat.
This referral program is an opportunity to unplug from technology and responsibilities for ninety minutes in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Participating women get a chance to feel in their bodies a sense of calm by introducing several types of simple relaxation techniques using breath, movement, meditation, visualization, essential oil, Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep/guided relaxation) and music. The women will enjoy a healthy treat, and take-home gift bag.
“We are looking forward to offering women the opportunity to experience self-care and learn simple quick ways to incorporate into their everyday life and working with Interfaith and other nonprofit organizations in the community, hoping to make a difference in the lives of women.” said Giangrieco.
The Women Helping Women Fund offered through the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains was established under the direction late local businesswoman, Judy Ventresca. Judy’s initial donation to establish a fund will provide perpetual funding through grants to various organizations that serve the needs of local women.
This fund was created to help improve the lives of local women by expanding their opportunities through education and entrepreneurship. Judy felt that investing in women’s education is an intelligent approach as it makes simple economic sense. Education can help women increase wages, gain employment, and be open to more opportunities.
