Know the Difference: Abortion Pill vs. Plan B

Many people don’t realize there’s a big difference between the abortion pill and Plan B. Knowing the facts matters—especially when it comes to your health.

🔹 Plan B (Emergency Contraception)
• Prevents pregnancy.
• Taken within 72 hours after unprotected s*x.
• Works by delaying ovulation.

"The most beautiful thing you can wear is confidence." -Blake Lively

Do you want your daughter to be confident in her knowledge of her own body? Wondering how to talk to her about the changes that will be happening during puberty? If you or someone you know would like to have the answers to these questions and more, the Guiding Star Cycle Show is the place to do it.

The Guiding Star Cycle Show Workshop is an educational, interactive, multi-media, fertility awareness workshop for young girls, ages 9-12. It is a desirable addition to the standard reproductive health education given in schools; its aim is to equip young girls with the knowledge of what is going on inside their bodies in relation to puberty. This knowledge then supports and prepares them in a positive way for the wonderful changes they will experience within their bodies over the coming years.

Hosted by Life Choices and taught by a certified instructor, this workshop will equip young girls with the knowledge (equal to some physicians) of their bodies, and give them confidence in understanding that there is more going on behind the scenes.

The workshop will be Friday, August 1st, 2025 from 9 am - 2 pm. There will also be a parent presentation on July 31st, 2025 from 7 pm - 8:30 pm if you would like to know more about what will be presented.

Participation in the Cycle Show gives girls a healthy respect for their bodies and will help them protect what they value and respect.

Missed a Period? Here’s What You Should Know

Your menstrual cycle is your body’s way of preparing for a possible pregnancy each month. It starts on the first day of your period and ends when your next one begins.

The number of days between periods is called your cycle length.
A “normal” cycle can be anywhere from 21 to 35 days—so there’s a range of what’s considered typical!

But if your period is late or you’ve missed one completely, it might be time to take a pregnancy test or talk to someone you trust.

Skipping an in-person exam by ordering the abortion pill online means missing the chance to check for any potential health concerns before starting the process.

Without an ultrasound, there’s no way to accurately determine how far along the pregnancy is.

An in-person ultrasound is also important to check for things like miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy.
