In soft white air where breath becomes prayer 🌬️
Two red wings move through the stillness ❤️
And I whisper your name into the quiet sky ☁️
It’s the small moments that ache the deepest 💧
A simple joy that suddenly feels hollow 🌙
A smile missing from a familiar place 🥀
A silence where laughter used to live 🌟
Still, I look for you in gentle spaces 🌿
In the flutter of wings across frozen air 🕊️

This is an excerpt from a longer poem about the grief that sits at the table where our loved ones used to be.
It’s painful to navigate this space. It’s hard to imagine a gathering without them.
It doesn’t just hurt for the first round of holidays, it hurts for all of them.
As our seasons change, may we also gently allow ourselves and our grief to change how we need it to.
May we sit with it, may we process it, may we be patient with it as it expects different things from us each day.
