This is why I closed the crystal shop portion of my business. I did my research on ensuring I acquired authentic gems and for some areas knowing it was extra important to ensure safe ethical mining practices, but I couldn’t beat the prices of the fake ones on the market. If you’re buying from sellers in China, please know majority that you’ll find are lab grown, not mined. It’s reflected in the cheap price and mass production of decorative shapes.

The healing crystal and gemstone industry is booming, fueled in part by social media, but experts warn buyers to be cautious of fake products flooding the market.

Somatic Yoga- combines breath & specific somatic based neuromuscular movements to release chronic tension and reset muscle holding patterns.

Integrative Somatic Reset Therapy- combines all three sessions into a 2 hour experience.

Somatic Reset Immersion- group coaching sessions available rotating specific nervous system needs.

🙏🏼🕯️ the concept of loving kindness meditation was first shared with me by my massage teacher. It offers spaciousness, light, and a gentle invitation to healing. Since then, turning towards Metta loving kindness meditations have shown up in other classes like philosophy, somatic healing, and even clinical mindfulness. It reminds me of the first Yama in the yoga sutra- Ahimsa, or nonviolence. This is the theme of our Somatic Yoga Sangha for the month of February as we explore this and the many ways it is mirrored in beliefs and practices.

I'm deeply passionate about somatic work because I know how powerful it is and it should be accessible. Let's face it, if thinking about things was going to fix it, you'd be over it by now. You can do all the mindset work and positive affirmations, but if you don't address the root cause, the patterns repeat. The nervous system can either be a powerful ally or a force to continually fight. One leads to peace, the other exhaustion.

We are snowed in place in the middle of nowhere aka at home in Stella. While typically I thoroughly enjoy the seclusion we have with our property, we won’t be getting out of here anytime soon lol we’ll see how it looks Monday afternoon to decide if any attempt will be made for Tuesday.

Somatics is not a trend. It’s a function of the nervous system.

When I hear therapists say somatics is “just a marketing term,” what I actually hear is this:
They don’t understand nervous system organization, AND they’re likely frustrated with inconsistent results in their work.

Somatics refers to the somatic nervous system, the part of the nervous system responsible for sensory perception and voluntary movement.
This system is how the body interprets the environment and decides how to organize itself internally.

Before the autonomic nervous system shifts into fight, flight, freeze, or rest… the body senses first.

That sensing:
• informs muscle tone
• shapes posture and movement patterns
• determines where the body braces or softens
• and directly impacts pain, inflammation, and regulation

This is why somatic-based work changes outcomes.

Somatic approaches aren’t new. They’ve been foundational to trauma resolution, movement re-education, and nervous system regulation for decades, long before they became a buzzword.

What is new is that more people are finally understanding why these methods work.

Massage has always helped people feel better.
What’s been missing, especially in massage education, is a clear understanding of how sensory input, movement, and perception organize the nervous system beyond just “sympathetic vs parasympathetic.”

That gap matters.

It’s the reason many therapists struggle to explain their results or replicate them consistently.

Somatic work isn’t magic.
It’s not a trend.
It’s not woo (even if I enjoy that too).

It’s nervous system literacy.

And that’s why I teach Somatic Reset Bodywork so therapists can work with the body instead of guessing at it.
