Okay. Results are in. Huge shoutout to Dr. McQuade for calling right after the results got in.

Brain looks better when talking about ventricles.

He does have a Chiari II Malformation which could be causing all of the problems he has. Our neurologist is reaching out to our neurosurgeon. Meeting next Thursday with everyone about the results and next steps.

Our neurologist also believes that Malachi may also have Cerebral Palsy. We are going to continue to watch him grow and see how it goes.

Possible surgery to relieve the malformation soon if our neurosurgeon thinks it's appropriate.

Lots of giant things could be happening in the next couple of months. Keep us in your prayers please ❤️

Malachi goes in tomorrow for a MRI of his brain. This will let us know how bad his Chiari is and other aspects of his brain. This is voluntary anesthesia which always comes with risks. If you all could say a prayer for little guy tonight and tomorrow morning, I’d really appreciate it.

Edit: Malachi is out of surgery and in the PICU. All went well.

Hello everyone!!!
It has been awhile since I’ve updated everyone. Malachi is doing wonderful. We are coming up on a year of him being in Birth to Three and everyone on his team is so pleased with how he is doing.
We had a bunch of appointments today and we have been cleared by every specialty for 6 months. Our next round of appointments will start in February.
He is such a happy little boy and just an absolute joy to be around. ❤️❤️❤️

Little guy has been discharged! He did really well. No new movement on his vocal cords which is disappointing, but everything looks good otherwise. They upsized his trach. Talking about different options now. Our ENT is going to do some research and point us in the right direction. He is working back to being our smiley boy and everyone just adores him at Children’s.
