Three years ago, on my last birthday before her passing, Raven Keyes sent me this greeting. She was always generous in celebrating her friends. I saved this birthday message almost as if I knew it would be the last, and I would need it from time to time, not to stroke my ego, but to strengthen my resolve. The work to keep Raven's vision for Medical Reiki moving forward is an uphill journey and often stressful, but, along with others equally devoted to the cause, we continue on. We are determined that one day Reiki will be available in medical facilities to all patients who want the healing power of Reiki to be part of their treatment plans. Raven's dream, and her friendship, will always be worth celebrating on however many birthdays I have remaining.

If you’ve ever wondered where Reiki really came from or what’s fact vs. folklore, this one’s for Justin B. Stein - Reiki ResearchStein - Reiki Research, for a special 75-minute session on August 6 at 12 PM PT!

Justin is a historian of Japanese religion and spirituality, Chair of Asian Studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and the world’s leading academic voice on Reiki’s early development. His first book, Alternate Currents, traces Reiki’s evolution across Japan, Hawaii, and North America through the life and work of Hawayo Takata.

In this session, he’ll share insights from historical documents, including rare Japanese texts and Takata’s unpublished autobiography, to explore:

As Chairman of the Board of Medical Reiki Works, I'm pleased to announce that Medical Reiki training for Reiki Masters is returning! Marleen Duffy of Medical Reiki International (formerly Medical Reiki Ireland) has launched a freshly designed and updated course to prepare Medical Reiki Masters in the spirit and tradition of her dear friend and colleague, Raven Keyes. Additionally, Raven's son, John Keane, is in the process of re-launching Raven Keyes Medical Reiki International (RKMRI). More info on RKMRI to come soon.

Years ago, Raven Keyes gave Marleen Duffy her full support and blessing to establish the only other official Medical Reiki organization besides her own RKMRI. Marleen, an experienced Medical Reiki practitioner and teacher, is joined in the new Medical Reiki course by Helene Williams, a respected Reiki teacher and Registered Nurse who for a number of years has offered highly regarded classes on practicing Reiki in clinical settings.
