This past week, CACI hosted our Annual Directors Conference, bringing together the incredible leaders who guide Children’s Advocacy Centers across Illinois. Each year, we leave this time together reminded of the passion, dedication, and heart that drives our CAC directors to serve children and families with excellence and compassion. 💙

We are truly grateful for this community of leaders—those who continue to support one another, share ideas, and push our collective mission forward. Our hope is that this network of directors continues to grow stronger each year, because we know that when we stand together, we are stronger together.

2025 Marks a Special Milestone for CACI!

This year, we’re proud to celebrate 30 years of advocacy as the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Illinois (CACI)! Throughout the year, we’ll be highlighting the incredible milestones, accomplishments, memories, and partnerships that have shaped us over the past three decades, as well as sharing a vision for the future of child advocacy.

✨ To kick off this celebration, we’re excited to unveil our brand-new 30th Anniversary Logo! ✨

We are heartbroken at the loss of one of our biggest advocates, our board member Caleb Counterman. Caleb went to bat for our Children's Advocacy Center from the moment he joined the board, from offering to help come dry wall as we got our new location to inviting us to share what we do with the County Board. He showed up and was always kind and willing to do what he could for the kids we serve. We will miss you and our hearts are with your wife, sons, and your many, many family and friends who will miss you dearly. Thank you for all you did for us.

Applications for our 2024 “Shop With A Local Hero” will be available starting September 1, 2024 on our website www.gchhinc.org. Please share if you know anyone who may need some extra assistance this Christmas, kids must live and attend school in Grundy County Illinois and be between the ages of 4-15 years old to participate.

Tomorrow, Wednesday August 14, 2024, marks the start of the new school year. Now is a great time to review when you need to stop for a school bus. Use extra caution always when around buses and be on the look out for students. SLOW DOWN!

Give yourself extra travel time during drop-off and pick-up times. There will be a significant increase in traffic and students walking to and from school. Let's make this a SAFE and enjoyable school year.
