***Urgent update: If you have started the donor screening process through Penn or Chop, you can ask them to have your initial screeening and any testing sent to Hackensack Meridian to finalize your donor screening process. (This will hopefully help with distance issues and time commitments getting to Philadelphia)

PLEASE KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYERS AS OUR 8TH GRADE SON, THADDEUS, IS IN
DESPERATE NEED OF A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.

We urgently need your help!

Some of you are aware that our son Thaddeus was diagnosed with kidney
disease at birth. Thaddeus was in the NICU for a long time after his
birth and had several surgeries within the first year of his life
including the removal of 1 nonfunctioning kidney. He has battled this
disease for many years silently enduring the effects that it has had
on his body.

He is absolutely the strongest and most resilient person that I know.
Unfortunately, the disease has taken a toll on the remaining kidney
and because of a recent and sudden turn in his health, he needs a
lifesaving kidney donation urgently.

Neither my husband or I are a direct match for our son, so we are
praying that someone within our community can help us in this time of
great need.

To be a match for Thaddeus, he needs:

A healthy living kidney donor

with O blood type

A living donation is both lifesaving and life changing

Why there’s hope for us on this road ahead:

· Kidney transplants are one of the most successful organ transplants.

· Over 95% of kidney transplants are successful after the first year.

· Children who receive a transplant often experience better
energy, growth, and quality of life.

· A living donor kidney can last 15–20 years or longer.
