Why decriminalization is important:

Though I don’t have a formal DSM diagnosis, I have plenty of issues and emotional problems that at various times have really compromised my life, and I have benefitted greatly from the healing power of psychedelic medicine. The advantage of a state-based access program is that all adults who can safely benefit will have access to the healing these medicines provide, without requiring people in need to have a formal DSM diagnosis. We’re all struggling and most can benefit, except those contra-indicated with psychotic disorders.

M**A in therapy helps people engage with, process, and resolve extremely difficult emotional and traumatic material, such that in most cases after treatment, PTSD sufferers no longer meet the diagnostic criteria for PTSD.

How’s that bricklaying coming?
How’s your engine running?
Is that bridge getting built?
Are your hands getting filled?
Won’t you tell me, my brother?
'Cause there are stars up above
We can start moving forward.

Each thing you put on your list is a ladder rung that will help you climb out of chaos.

It's okay to intentionally put balls down in the chaotic parts of life like transitional phases so you can juggle less and live in the present moment. Chaos exists as an opportunity to practice the skills we're putting in our tool boxes for our mental health and emotional regulation. We can't practice in a regulated state.

My twins made this painting on their first birthday. I threw an unstretched canvas on the floor, put some paint on a couple plates for them and then set them both on it and watched. It was delightful.

My twins were born in November 2020. In January 2020 I was in an active duty military inpatient program in Utah for PTSD and chronic suicidality. I was exhausted. My military career would officially end just a couple months before my due date.

What else was happening in 2020? Oh yeah, mothers were giving birth in drug induced comas because COVID-19 hit pregnant women as hard as any other demographic. The virus actually ages the placenta, increasing health risks for mothers and babies. I was spared the illness but not the fear.

Postpartum informed by PTSD is a monster. If you're living through this right now, I want you to know that there's space for you here, and I want you to know it does get better, but not without you here in it. We need you here with us.

We're working on packing up our house to sell right now, but I'm going to keep this piece up as long as I'm able before hanging it in our new home. It's proof we all made it through that first year. We'll keep making it. Everything you do matters.

Decriminalization is essential in the creation of safe containers and standarda for producers and facilitators. When those who have the knowledge, experience and goodwill to influence the psychedelic economy are allowed to move in the open, they can cultivate a culture where our members are knowledgeable and have appropriate access to cultivators and companies who can raise the bar for what is safe psychedelics.

Your parenting game will change when you can really sit with the fact that in any given moment, your children are having a different experience than you are.

It helps even more when you can be objective in that.

Integration with kids is extra hard, you're doing shadow work for yourself and integrating life experience with another whole human. Don't be discouraged if your process is taking a long time, it's longer, but with more greater depth and density.

How is your integration/shadow work/healing journey treating you this week? Thoughts? Epiphanies? Struggles?
