We're truly thankful for great partners like Chad Fisher Construction who have made this daunting project possible. On our behalf, they have secured more than $180,000 in discounts and donations from subcontractors and suppliers. Many thanks to all who have already contributed.

Breaking Ground: Chad Fisher Construction is honored to partner with New Earth Recovery, a Skagit Valley-based nonprofit that exists to love, strengthen, and walk alongside individuals healing from substance addiction.

CFC is helping to expand this vision with the building of Cedar House #2 — a safe and welcoming place designed to help more people rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, and purpose. More than just a structure, this build is a reflection of community care and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to heal.

What do families do when their loved ones are in danger of harming themselves? Why are people with substance use disorder treated differently than other mental health crises . . . in emergency rooms, on the streets, and with law enforcement? Why is it such a long wait to get help for someone in crisis, and why are there so few people who can do these assessments?

Representative Lauren Davis discusses all this and more in this podcast on Ricky's Law. 38 minutes, critical information.

Wise Alan!

Wise Alan!

Wisdom from the Field & Building Recovery Capital!

WAQRR’s Board Chair, Alan Muia , has been actively contributing to the NARR Best Practices Summit in Sandusky, Ohio.

Yesterday, Alan (who also serves as the Executive Director of New Earth Recovery) joined Chris Edrington and Sara Barkley for the Wisdom from the Field panel, where veteran operators with decades of experience shared best practices for navigating complex recovery housing scenarios. Topics included relapse response, resident conflict, boundary setting, and supporting residents with co-occurring needs, all rooted in the NARR Standards and the social model of recovery.

Today, Alan participated in Building Recovery Capital Through Community Partnerships alongside Michelle Medlock, Kim Montroll, and Brandy Anderson. This panel explored how recovery residences, recovery cafés, and recovery community organizations can work together to strengthen recovery capital and expand support networks.

We are grateful for Alan’s leadership and proud to see Washington represented in these important national conversations.

Did you know we're opening our seventh recovery home? It's going up fast! Windows in. Happy days, thinking of the men who will live here and have another chance at abundant life.

We'll be there! Hope to see a great turnout.

We'll be there! Hope to see a great turnout.

Every August, people from all across the world come together as one big family to take action on overdose and renew their commitment to end overdose and drug-related harms in their communities.

Join us on August 27th at the Skagit County Fairgrounds from 5:00-8:00 pm to observe International Overdose Awareness Day. Learn about overdose, get prepared to respond, practice compassion, lessen stigma and shame, and honor those who are no longer with us.

Every story shared, every voice raised, and every step we take together brings us closer to a future free from overdose.

Special thanks to our event sponsors for their ongoing support of our community! New Earth Recovery, R.I.S.E. Recovery, Recovery Café Skagit , United General District 304, Molina Healthcare
