Today’s throwback feels extra special—it’s Thanksgiving, and the perfect moment to look back on the many seasons, smiles, and memories shared across the San Juan Mountains and beyond.

Our Executive Director picked a few favorite moments from over the years- celebrating the athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters who make TASP possible.

Winter at TASP is all about moments like these - confidence growing, skills building, and athletes like Madison feeling free to fly.

“We have been so lucky to have all the great instructors and volunteers over the years. We love Peter and how he always encourages Madison and helps her improve her skills every year.”

Opening day may be delayed to December 6th, but TASP training is already in full swing. Lift ops, ticket checkers, gondola crews- we’re getting everyone ready to welcome adaptive athletes back to the snow. Throwback Thursday to Team San Juan!
From 2006 memories to today, TASP’s Special Olympics team has been showing incredible resilience and teamwork on the slopes since 2000. These photos also highlight the volunteers who make it all possible- helping athletes train, supporting races, and cheering every effort along the way.

Holly has been snowboarding with TASP since she was 5 - even more impressive is that she is also a Burton-sponsored athlete! An Australian native, she found community, friendship, and some of her all-time favorite memories right here in Telluride.

“Being at TASP during the winter has been such a gift. My love for winter sports drew me here, but what I found was so much more. When I first came to Telluride, I didn’t know a single person. Through TASP I discovered a true sense of belonging—a family that welcomed me with open arms.”
