2023, 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018 Limpias!

After receiving my first limpia (spiritual cleanse) in the Zocalo (main plaza and one of of the most energetic places in the world) of Mexico City in 2018 next to the ruins of an ancient temple of Tenochtitlan, I made it a goal to return every year for a limpia from a female curandera (healer). Only COVID was able to stop me from returning in 2020.

This profound cleansing reinvigorates my soul and fills me with gratitude every year.

The work was rough, but living and exploring Northern California for 6 months was a win. Leaving for Mexico tomorrow with a grateful heart!

4 years vegan for the animals and happier and healthier because of it.
•
We have become so desensitized and disconnected to the suffering required to produce massive amounts of animal flesh and animal products for human consumption.
•
Eating animals and their products (milk and eggs) is a leading cause of major cardiovascular events like heart attacks and strokes, and has strong ties to many cancers and autoimmune diseases. I cured my high blood pressure and acid reflux and have better maintained a healthy weight and seen huge improvements in my skin and my energy since switching to a vegan lifestyle.
•
We are killing this planet at a rate visible in my short lifetime, and the leading cause for deforestation and animal extinction on land and in the seas is animal agriculture and large scale fishing. This planet isn’t as large as we think it is, especially with over 8 billion human inhabitants.
•
No animal wants to die. There is no humane way to kill an animal. No cow wants to be forcibly impregnated and then have their baby ripped from them shortly after birth so you can drink it’s milk.
•
Eating plant-based doesn’t have to be boring. Everyone who spends significant time with me says “I could go vegan if I ate like this.” I wasn’t born with recipes, but it was worth it for me to learn to cook and eat as a vegan and stop contributing to an industry leading to animal suffering, human morbidity and mortality, and deforestation and animal extinction.

10 years ago today on the Glacier Highway in Alaska with my main girl Dutchess.🐶

Dutchess passed away in 2022 at almost 14 years old, but not before seeing every province and territory in Canada🇨🇦, over 30 of the United States🇺🇸, and over 20 states in Mexico🇲🇽.

I love and miss you, Dutchess.😢 I’ve never felt more loved. Thank you.❤️

Paraty, Brazil is the most photographable city I’ve ever seen. This colonial city may not be as grand, but it competes in beauty with my favorite colonial cities of the Americas (Antigua, Quito, Cuzco, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, San Cristobal de las Casas, Granada, etc).
