Hey! Did you know that activated black charcoal absorbs the substances in your digestive tract?? Like.. including your BIRTH CONTROL?

If you take your birth control within a few hours of consuming activated black charcoal, it can reduce the absorbtion of the hormones in the pill, thus making it less effective.

Don’t get caught slipping, girl! Check the ingredients. Not every black burger bun contains activated black charcoal, but if you ate one that is, don’t stress. Just wait 4-5 hours before taking your birth control.

You guys know we get a little witchy around here. Pomegranates are a WONDERFUL tool for fertility magic, and Autumn did such a good job outlining that in this post.

Pomegranates are associated with Mabon and Samhain, as well as, the goddess Persephone! They can be a fruit to use in your magickal workings this autumn. This information is from EBlueLune and Plentiful Earth with sources listed below.

The Magic of Pomegranate
Pomegranate's power exudes feminine energy. Like the Empress of tarot, pomegranate's energy is fertile and passionate. However, like the High Priestess, the fruit's power has a hidden, deeply mystical and magical side, captivating religious adherents, spiritual thinkers and powerful witches alike for many millennia.
Pomegranate is the energy of the Goddess of Fertility and Spring, but also a sobering reminder the Queen of the Underworld's dark bargain and the barren of Winter. It only took a handful of pomegranate seeds for Persephone to seal her fate as betrothed to Hades, so too does pomegranate remind us that to glimpse beyond the veil is to know beyond the veil, and once you know you can never go back.

Consider the power of pomegranate in your next fertility spell, because just as pomegranate is rife with seeds, so too is it full of powerful, fertile energy. Its power is also mystical, divine and immortal, which lends itself well when diving deep into timeless and ancient energies. Pomegranates are a powerful symbol of the world within and the world around us, and a powerful reminder of the abundance of gifts and magic that exists in the world unseen.

12 Magical Ways to Use Pomegranate

Eating pomegranate seeds or carrying the skin is believed to increase fertility.

Pomegranate is associated with luck, and it is said that if you make a wish before eating pomegranate, the wish will come true.

Pomegranate juice can be substituted for blood in blood magic.

Drinking pomegranate juice is said to increase wisdom.

During Samhain, it is customary to eat three pomegranate seeds in remembrance of Persephone's journey to the Underworld, but eating anymore than three seeds will cause hardship in the coming year.

Make an ink using pomegranate leaves and vinegar and use it to write fertility, prosperity and protection spells.

In Asian culture, it is tradition to decorate the bedroom of a newlywed couple with pomegranates to bless the union.

Pomegranates and Greek Mythology

Pomegranate has deep significance in mythology, particularly Greek mythology. After all, it was the seeds of the pomegranate fruit that ultimately caused Persephone to be bound to the Underworld four months of the year. The Greeks use the story of Persephone and her journey into the Underworld to explain why the seasons change, the fullness of Spring, and the dormancy of Winter.

Persephone, the beautiful daughter of the harvest and Earth goddess Demeter, caught the eye of Hades, God of the Underworld. Hades could not contain his desire for Persephone, and eventually decided to kidnap her and steal her away to his dark domain. With her daughter now missing, Demeter was thrust into a deep sadness, and in her melancholy, plants soon ceased to grow, the trees shed their leaves, and an endless winter took over the lands.

Meanwhile in the Underworld, Persephone was also beside herself with grief and refused to eat. Hades tried to offer all sorts of delicacies for her to receive sustenance, but to no avail. However, Persephone's will to avoid eating was starting to break down as her hunger rose.

When Hades offered her a handful of pomegranate seeds, she could no longer resist, and she finally gave in and ate four seeds. As the Fates would have it, anyone who consumes the food of the Underworld is trapped in the Underworld, and since Persephone ate four seeds, she was doomed to spend four months out of every year by Hades side as Queen of the Underworld. During this time, Demeter mourns her daughter, and plants will not grow. Hence the reason for Winter.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) is an organization that provides remembrance photography for families experiencing the loss of a baby. I have had the honor of being an affiliate photographer for the past year, helping families honor their children and capture meaningful memories during such a difficult time.

With permission from this beautiful family, I am sharing photos from their session to highlight why NILMDTS is so important and how you can help.

These photos show the immense love this family has for their precious daughter, Eden Grace. They serve as a reminder of the profound impact that capturing a moment can have. In their grief, families may not think to take photos, and the emotions they are experiencing can be overwhelming. By offering remembrance photography, we provide them with the gift of memories that they will cherish forever—capturing the little details that mean the most, from their baby’s tiny toes to the shape of their nose.

NILMDTS is always seeking volunteer photographers, dispatchers, and image retouchers, and the need is especially great in Indiana. If you have a talent for photography or image editing, your contribution could have a lasting impact on grieving families in your community.

Thank you to this incredible family for allowing me to share their love and their journey in this intimate moment. 🤍

Have you ever felt a deep, intuitive connection with a soul that hasn’t yet been brought into the world? You might be feeling the presence of a spirit baby– a soul from the spiritual realm who is waiting to join you and your family. These spirit babies have their ways of communicating with you.

You might be asking yourself.. A spirit baby?! Lexi, what are you talking about?!
A spirit baby is either a soul that you are meant to welcome into your life, or a soul from a past pregnancy. When a spirit baby is trying to communicate with you, it could manifest in different ways.

Maybe you’re having recurring dreams about a child or a baby. Maybe, you’re noticing signs in nature, such as butterflies, feathers, or an animal associated with fertility, like deer. You may suddenly be drawn to baby items without any specific reason, or may feel a maternal or paternal shift, despite not actively trying to conceive a child.

You can read more about this concept in Spirit Babies: How To Communicate With The Child You’re Meant To Have by Walter Makichen.

A spirit baby might be someone you’ve known in a past life, a loved one who has passed away that chooses to stay with you, or the soul of a miscarried or terminated baby. The book dives into all aspects of spirit babies, from how to know when to conceive, to abortion and adoption.

There are also many meditative exercises throughout the book. I have found these to be extremely helpful, as well as womb healing meditations from my sweet friend Kimberly, who is a professional Spirit Baby Reader. (You can follow her on TikTok, ) (same, girl)

I usually use a specific blend of incense for meditation, but I decided I wanted something more specific… thus creating my Spirit Baby incense blend. This is made to offer both you, and your spirit baby comfort and envelop you in love and healing energy as you communicate with one another. Using it is simple. You just dump a little bit of the loose blend on top of a charcoal disc.

These are $3 a bottle. They are perfect for setting the atmosphere to work with your spirit baby.

You can DM to order as our website is under construction right now! 🚜🔨 Have any questions about spirit babies?? Ask me!
