Celebrating Diversity Through Food at Thrive of Lake County

We celebrate the beautiful diversity of our residents, families, friends, and staff. One of the ways we honor this diversity is through our sumptuous Cooking Demonstrations hosted by our Entertainment Department.

Twice each month, residents enjoy a special culinary journey as we highlight different cuisines from around the world. So far, our travels have taken us to Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America, and Australia. All without leaving our community!

These demonstrations are a wonderful opportunity for residents and staff to taste new dishes, explore different cultures, and learn about the history behind each country’s cuisine.

Today, we’re proud to introduce the dedicated leaders behind Thrive—individuals who truly embody care, love, compassion, and excellence. Through this spotlight, we hope to connect more deeply with our residents, families, and staff as we continue to serve with heart.

Carolina has been a valued member of the Thrive of Lake County team for 3½ years. She began her journey as a CNA and, through dedication and hard work, advanced into her current role as Staffing Coordinator.

Carolina plays a vital role in ensuring our community is fully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—making sure our residents receive the consistent care and support they deserve. Her patience, reliability, and commitment to excellence truly set her apart.

At Thrive of Lake County, we believe every farewell is also a moment to celebrate. Today, Sonia, our Director of Hospitality, Director of Care Transitions- Memory Care, Will, Asst. Director of Nursing, Ronke and the entire Thrive team extend our warmest wishes to our wonderful guests as they return home.

Parkinson’s Awareness at Thrive of Lake County

We believe that education is an important part of supporting the health and well-being of our residents. Raising awareness about Parkinson’s disease is one way we help residents, families, and staff better understand this condition and how it affects many individuals today.

Our recent Parkinson’s Awareness session provided an opportunity for everyone to learn, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions about the disease and its growing impact.

It was an afternoon filled with awareness, education, thoughtful conversations, and shared learning, helping our community become more informed and supportive of those living with Parkinson’s.
