Meet Ashley! Whether you're processing trauma, navigating grief, or simply adjusting to life’s transitions, Ashley believes in the power of therapy for everyone.

With specialized training in CBT, DBT, Brainspotting, Sandtray, and Client-Centered Play Therapy, she brings a holistic and flexible approach to every session. Her work is grounded in the belief that therapy should be a genuine, helpful experience — one where you feel safe, seen, and supported.

She works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and relational struggles. No matter where you are in your journey, her goal is to help you move toward a life of greater joy, authenticity, and connection.

Your nervous system is not broken.
Your heart is not too much.
And you’re not imagining things.

So much of what we struggle with isn’t just a mental health issue — it’s the result of a lived experience. Often one that was lonely, overwhelming, or lacked support.

At River Tree, we hold space for your whole story. We believe healing happens when you stop blaming yourself and start understanding yourself.

You’re not crazy. You’re carrying something real.

There’s something sacred about being truly heard.

When we share our stories in safe spaces, we begin to unravel shame, confusion, and pain. We stop performing and start connecting—with others and with ourselves.

Therapy can be that space. A place where you don’t have to explain away your feelings. A space where your story is honored, not edited.

At River Tree, we believe healing starts with being seen. Really seen.

If you’re longing to feel known, supported, and safe to speak freely—
we’re here to listen.

It’s easy to silence our pain with a reminder to “just be grateful.”
And while gratitude is a beautiful practice—it’s not a cure-all.

You can be thankful for your job and still feel burned out.
You can love your family and still need a break.
You can be excited about your life and still feel low some days.

When we dismiss our struggles in the name of gratitude, we deny ourselves the space to be fully human.

You don’t have to earn it.
Not by being productive.
Not by being agreeable.
Not by being perfect.

You were worthy the moment you existed—and you still are.

Healing begins when you stop striving to deserve love and start learning to receive it.

You are already enough.

These might not look like big accomplishments on the outside—but inside, they’re powerful emotional wins.

These moments signal real healing. When we start responding with awareness instead of reacting out of habit, it means something is shifting.

The work of healing often happens in quiet, ordinary moments. Don’t overlook them. They are worth celebrating.

You’ve probably heard the voice:
"If I go easy on myself, I’ll never change."

But here’s the truth:
Change doesn’t come from shame. It comes from safety.

Self-compassion is not about lowering your standards.
It’s about creating the emotional safety you need to meet them.

When we treat ourselves with gentleness, we invite growth.
Not because we’re letting ourselves off the hook—
But because we’re finally offering the same grace we’d give to someone we love.

Which voice do you find louder—your inner critic or your inner caregiver?

If you’ve ever felt like you had to earn love or prove your worth, you’re not alone.

Perfectionism often masks an attachment wound—a fear that love and belonging are conditional. The truth? You were never meant to be perfect. You were meant to be held, seen, and accepted—especially in your imperfections.

Let’s rewrite the story.

You don’t have to be fine to be worthy of care.
You don’t have to “get it together” before reaching out.

Being honest about what hurts is not weakness—it’s the beginning of healing.
We’re here to walk with you in the real, raw places.

Therapist Spotlight: Meet Mark

Mark brings warmth, presence, and deep care to his work with couples, families, individuals, and adolescents. With a background in ministry and a heart for restoration, Mark creates a safe space for healing and growth—meeting each client right where they are.

Drawing from the Spiritual Root System™, Restoration Therapy, and Attachment Theory, Mark helps clients explore what’s getting in the way of the life they long for and works collaboratively to restore wholeness in their relationships—with themselves, others, and God.

His own story of learning to care for himself so he could better care for others deeply informs his approach. For Mark, therapy is sacred work—an invitation to recover, reconnect, and move forward.

We're so grateful for the compassion and clarity he brings to River Tree.

Joy and sorrow are not opposites—they are companions.

So often, the things that break our hearts are also the things we care most deeply about. Love, loss, hope, disappointment—they all share the same space.

Grief is the echo of joy. Longing is the shadow of love.

At River Tree, we believe healing doesn’t come from silencing sorrow, but from honoring it. Because the more we allow ourselves to feel, the more we open ourselves to beauty, depth, and connection.

There is nothing wrong with you for feeling deeply. You are simply alive.
