Summit Speech is a pediatric speech, language, and orofacial myofunctional private practice providing services in office and in preschool.

It was founded by Olivia Schwalbach, MS, CCC-SLP to serve Murfreesboro, TN and surrounding areas.

Third and final introduction! Welcome, Rachael! She’s a mom of two boys and has years of experience as an SLP. She brings such joy, expertise, and care to her sessions. Her love for working with kids is so evident to all of her families!

A new therapist and a new discipline! Welcome, Anna! Anna is an occupational therapist who works with children in the following areas:

⭐️ infant feeding
⭐️ tongue ties (pre and post-revision exercises)
⭐️ infant motor skill development
⭐️ fine motor skills (cutting, writing, etc)
⭐️ emotional regulation
⭐️ sensory processing

So happy to have Kayla on the team! She brings wonderful experience working with kids, and especially loves serving children who use AAC devices to communicate. Kayla is a true natural - all of the families are loving her!

Thank you all SO much for your excitement about the new space! All of the kids did amazing last week and I’m beyond grateful. Doing a little giveaway to celebrate! Happy Thursday from this ⭐️STAR⭐️ who just started imitating sounds correctly a few months ago. Now he’s saying clear sentences and is understood by his friends and teachers for the first time. How did we do it?

✅ focused on a curated word list to his specific interests and daily activities
✅ provided very specific feedback, not just “good job” or “almost”
✅ tons of reps during his favorite games
✅ incredibly supportive mom!

Some moments from my last office day for a while! Preparing for baby #3 due August 1 and will be back in October. Going to miss these sweet faces and can’t wait to see everyone in the fall!

Reposting this chart for all parents in the baby stage right now! It can feel nerve wracking in the early days when you’re waiting for your child to meet milestones. This is just a guide, and there’s no need to worry if your baby is meeting some of these goals but isn’t on this exact timeline. However, if you think he/she is far off from this guide, I’d be happy to help you get your little one talking 🤍

Not my first time doing therapy on a child’s trampoline and probably won’t be my last! Something I keep reminding myself with patients and my own kids is to say “yes” as much as possible:

Can I wear these shoes to school? Yes
Can I use a fork for my ice cream? Yes
Can I do speech therapy outside? Yes!

This sweet girl had her best session yet when we switched up the environment. Kids get so much confidence from having a unique idea and getting our support 🤍
