In two months, CASA of DeKalb County has sworn in 8 volunteers to advocate for 11 children. When we look at the impact of serving 11 children, the numbers go far beyond the children themselves. In the child welfare system, every single child is the center of a complex “human network.”

When a CASA volunteer advocates for a child, they aren’t just working in a vacuum; they are collaborating with and influencing a massive web of adults. Based on national averages and common case structures, serving 11 children involves a collaboration network of approximately 165 to 220 people.
