A huge thank you to Ms. Barb Jordan, founder of Always Bev for spending time with our women and teaching them about situational awareness and how to recognize, prevent, and respond to predatory behavior and violence. 💜

Your guidance and empowerment help equip women with the knowledge and confidence to better protect and defend themselves. We are grateful for your support and commitment to keeping our community safe. 🙏

At Doors of Hope, we believe recovery is possible - no matter where you’re starting from. It’s not about perfection; it’s about showing up, choosing hope, and taking the next right step. Some days will feel heavy, others full of light, but every step forward matters.

You are seen here. You are supported here. And you are never alone on this journey 💗

✨Board Member Spotlight✨

👉 Why is the mission of Doors of Hope important to you?
- "The Doors of Hope mission remains important to me because in these women I can see myself, and as 16th century Clergyman John Bradford said, “but for the grace of God, go I.” They can use help, and I want to support their successful journey back into our community, where they can work and care for their families."

👉 What has been the most meaningful moment you’ve experienced as a board member?
- "Clearly, my most meaningful moments as a board member have been to, in a small way, enter these women’s lives while they have been in jail, see their humble appreciation for anyone showing them care, but also their hope, and their incredible determination to do better."

👉 What is one hope or goal you have for the organization this year?
- "My hope for the organization this year is for more opportunities for the board to learn more about how to participate in the lives of the women we support as we strive to stay true to the mission of empowering them, and to create ways to make the program more self-sufficient."

✨Employee Spotlight - Mitzi Emberton✨

Mitzi is often the very first smiling face you see when you walk into Doors of Hope, and she has been an essential part of our team since April 2021.

She truly wears many hats, from being our go-to office decorator, creating a warm and welcoming environment for both staff and guests, to playing a key role in helping run last year’s golf tournament, which turned out to be the biggest success we’ve ever had!

Beyond that, Mitzi consistently goes above and beyond in all of her daily responsibilities, always bringing dedication, creativity, and heart into everything she does. Thank you, Mitzi, for all that you do - we are so lucky to have you! 🩷
