The mother was found as a stray and got pregnant and had puppies the people that had her couldn't keep her or her puppies so she was reaching out to a rescue to step up and take them. There was already a rescue that was confirmed to take them but an emergency happened causing the rescue to back out which is where we stepped in and took the mother and her two puppies they were given to in us 99 Cen
t Store basket. Mom was terrified puppies look well taken care of but they were full of worms and one of the puppies had a leg issue. Out of the two puppies the bigger male seem to us what we thought at first with a broken leg. I was able to find a rescue to take Mom and her puppies but when they found out that one of the dogs had a messed up like they said that they wouldn't know what to do with him because it cost a lot of money and the cost became too much ultimately he'd be put down I couldn't let that happen so my family and Ineeds.ped in and took the dog with the disabled leg we did not care that he had issues and couldn't walk normal. February 29th we took the puppy which is now named Josiah to Angel Care Pet Hospital to get X-rays done x-rays revealed that he does have some abnormalities but the vet they said it's too early to tell exactly what's going on to come back in 3 months we didn't like that answer and wanted a second opinion. So that's when we took him March 11th to Ark Animal Hospital where dr.costuma said that he has patellar luxation got his left leg is so bad that he can even pop the knee back in socket he then referred us to it Orthopedic Specialists to get him seen. The day we made an appointment for the following Monday to get him in with orthopedic. He had his new appointment Monday March 14th at 10 a.m. with an orthopedic specialist and that's when we were told the bad news. We were told that he has a grade three on his right leg and a grade four patella luxation on his left leg. He's going to need two surgeries. They said that even with surgery there is a chance that his left leg won't be completely normal if down the road he starts to show like he's in real pain they will suggest amputating it but they don't want to suggest that right away because he has two bad back legs. They want to do surgery in about 1 to 2 weeks for his first surgery its going to be $2,703,67 - $3,478.67 then they're going to want to do another surgery when he is about 10 months. We were really torn on what to do because we do not have that kind of money and there's no guarantee that it will even help them it took us all day or two to think it over and we chose to not do surgery right away. People might not agree with our choice but we have decided to play it by ear and see how he get as he get older. He's still so young and puppies joints are so loosey goosey that things just might turn out better than expected. And if they don't we can always do surgery later. To us 8 weeks old is just too early to be considering major orthopedic surgery, especially since he is showing improvement and obviously quite able to get around just fine. When we first brought him home he couldn't even walk he would not hold himself up he pretty much just laid there on his stomach and lift his head up to eat his food after changing his diet trying them on some joint supplements and doing physical therapy with him he has improved so much he is now able to walk run hop and hold himself up but he eats and support himself. But he definitely has a long road ahead of them and there are some treatments that he needs
