Last Friday I turned 35.

Which in obstetrics means I’ve entered the elite category of:

✨ Geriatric ✨

Wild how last week I was fine…
and today I apparently qualify for extra monitoring and sometimes forced unnecessary intervention.

Turns out pregnancy outcomes have a lot more to do with health and prior births than a single number!!

But in honor of my Advanced Maternal Age era, please enjoy these aggressively awkward JCPenney glamour portraits. Which made excellent Christmas gifts for my parents btw 😉 we all had a good laugh…both with others and at us as we walked around the mall like this.

This isn’t Midwives vs OBs!!

One of the biggest keys to positive birth outcomes is collaboration.

Midwives bring:
• physiologic birth support
• low-intervention expertise
• continuous presence

OBs bring:
• surgical skill
• high-risk management
• life-saving interventions when needed

When both work together — families get the best of both worlds.

This is what modern, respectful maternity care should look like. Let’s not lose this model in our community!

Midwifery care isn’t just “nice to have.” It’s a proven, evidence-based model that supports safer births, better outcomes, and real choice for families. Removing Certified Nurse-Midwives from hospital care affects not just providers, but parents, babies, and the long-term health of our community.

Rancho Springs Hospital serves thousands of families in Murrieta and the surrounding area. Decisions made here ripple outward — impacting access, safety, and trust in maternity care.

Time for another reintroduction!
I’m Rochelle 💜

Mom of 2, Certified Birth Doula and Body Ready Pro with 3 years of helping women feel confident, supported, and empowered through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I fell in love with this work after experiencing motherhood myself — there’s nothing like the mix of excitement, nerves, and beautiful whirlwind that comes with bringing a tiny human into the world.

I absolutely love my doula families and getting to watch their babies grow up — it’s such a privilege to be part of these early, life-changing moments. I’m all about real talk, practical tips, and cheering you on through the challenges and magic of motherhood.

At home, life is full of dance recitals, soccer games, piano lessons, homeschooling adventures, and yes… a lot of coffee. 💕 I like to think my experiences as a mom help me connect with the moms I support in a way that’s warm, relatable, and grounded in real life.

“It’s not just about the plan, it’s about the strength you find in the journey”

✨ This mama’s postpartum visit was so beautiful and inspiring. Although her birth didn’t go as planned, her strength, resilience, and grace are truly awe-inspiring. 💪

She did everything she could to prepare herself for labor and postpartum, and although things didn’t go the way she envisioned, she is now thriving and crushing the mom life. Every step of her journey has shown just how capable she is. 🌟

I’m so honored to have been the photographer to capture these precious moments, and it’s clear that she has so much to be proud of. 💖

Remember, it’s not just about the plan, it’s about the strength you find in the journey. And with that strength, there’s nothing she can’t handle moving forward!
