"Grief, I have come to understand, is really just love with nowhere to land.
It's all the hugs you still want to give, the words you didn't get to say, the moments you thought you'd still share.
That love doesn't vanish - it gathers quietly.
It sits in the corners of your eyes when they well up without warning. It rests in the heaviness of your chest, in the tight feeling in your throat when you remember.
It lingers in the quiet spaces, in the silence where someone's laughter used to live. Grief is love that still wants to give. It's love that doesn't know where to go, so it settles into your heart and makes a home there. And while it hurts, it's also a reminder - A sign that what you had was real, and deep, and beautiful. So, when the ache shows up, let it. It's only love, still trying to reach the one it was meant for."

"So, on the hard days, you must remind yourself: you wouldn't trade the love to escape the grief. You wouldn't erase the happiness to avoid the pain. And you will endure a lifetime of missing, for the privilege of having loved."
- Jameson Arasi

Martha “Louise” Rappe, 84, of Okay, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 6, 1940, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Denzley Elmo and Dona Lee (Barrett) Bolinger.
Louise met and married the love of her life Troy “Chester” Rappe on November 13, 1960, a marriage that lasted over 53 years, before his passing in 2014. A devoted member of Okay First Baptist Church for many years, Louise found great joy in the fellowship of her church family. Her generous spirit and servant’s heart were evident in her years of dedicated service cooking at the Okay Senior Center.
Louise had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed gardening and baking, and she rarely missed an Oklahoma Sooner football game. She also took pride in sewing and always kept her nails beautifully done. Among her most cherished moments were tea parties with her granddaughters and time spent spoiling her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beloved fur babies.
Her life was a testament to love, devotion, and service—a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester Rappe; sisters, Judy Brassfield and Saundra Osborn; brother, Charlie Bolinger; daughters, Brenda Frazier and Carol Strebel; grandsons, Billy Lee, Jr. and Carson Kellogg; great nephew, Keith Washington; nieces, Janice Osborn and Bridgette Hacker.
Those left to cherish Louise’s memory are her son, Troy Rappe; grandchildren, Amanda Eubanks and husband Jeff, Audra Moore and husband Michael, Taylor Lee and wife Rachel, Verlin Frazier and wife Erin, Sheri Bustamente and husband Isbello, C.W. Frazier, Robyn Kellogg and husband Michael, Abigail Rappe, Grace Rappe, and Katrina Keefer; great grandchildren, Martha Louise, Briar Lee, Ryker and Maverick Lee, Tanner Kellogg, Sierra Frazier, Rylee and Jackson Moore; brother, Roger Bolinger and wife Carol; sister in law, Becky Bolinger; son in law, David Strebel; special friends, Maxine Reece, Debbie Woffard, Judy and Lavoy Young, and the Dennis family; numerous beloved nieces; nephews; friends; and church family.
A visitation with family receiving friends will be 5PM-7PM, Monday, June 16, 2025 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson.
A celebration of Louise’s life will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Okay First Baptist Church in Okay, Oklahoma with Pastor Ken Krepps officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Jeff Eubanks, Troy Rappe, Michael Moore, Thomas Jones, Taylor Lee, and Lavoy Young serving as casket bearers. Jackson Moore, Tanner Kellogg, Michael Kellogg, C.W. Frazier, Verlin Frazier, and Roger Bolinger will serve as honorary casket bearers.
