Todays workout was fast and hard:
5 rounds for time.
7 total exercises and 5 reps per exercise.
95 # barbell.
1m30s rest in between rounds.
10 min and loose change of work.
16 min and loose change total time invested. I felted totally gassed afterwards and completely out of breath. I’ll take it as a sign of progressing onto the next workout.

Yesterday I started a new adventure and it requires me to be very sedentary for 9 hours. Instead of sitting into the new sedentary lifestyle, I decided on day one that I would move my body every hour on the hour. Each hour I did 20 Bodyweight squats, 20 push ups, and 20 seated dips. Took all over 1m 30s per set. Wasn’t much but better than sitting still for 9 straight hours. Change happens in the mind and heart first and then the spirit will follow and make sure change keeps happening.

Dialed in for this workout as best as I could. Set some personal bests. Happiest with my increase in incline bench press from 95 for 2 to 135 for 8 and up to 155 for 4 smooth reps. Progress is all I ask of myself and of my clients.

Wellness isn’t just lifting weights or running. Wellness also encompasses other areas like mental health. As part of my own mental health journey, I started to “rescue” discounted plants from as part of my quiet time. Today’s haul was 11 plants discounted at 90% off. I spent a good amount of time clearing out each plants root system and used a mix of tropical plant potting soil and peat moss soil to help keep them moist and feed them. In a few days I will start to prune and shape each of the bonsai. I like to wait a bit so there isn’t too much trauma to them all at once. Coupled with coffee house radio and I create a quiet place where I can disconnect from the world and just be present in that moment. What do you do as part of your mental health journey? Anything similar.

01/01/2024 consisted of a full body work out and a 1 mile walk with the dog. For the month of January I set many intentions and tracking breakfast every day is part of it. Then in February, I’ll add lunch in and then dinner. I’m doing it this way because it is more sustainable because I have a history of stopping my food logging when I become overwhelmed. I am hoping to build change that is sustainable

I know everyone has either planned or is in the process of planning for new year’s but I wanted to tell you about January 10th, it is known as Quitter's Day, observed on the second Friday in January in the US and several countries, marks the point when some begin to re-evaluate their New Year's resolutions.

Coined by data analysts studying fitness app usage patterns, this day highlights a common trend where enthusiasm for new goals starts to wane.

I hope everyone is still at it on January 11th and every day in 2025 and beyond!
