A Rare and Beautiful Full Moons In May! 🌕

🗓 Having two full moons in a single month is a treat, especially since it won't happen again in the month of May until 2045.

🌕 May 1: The Flower Moon
- Moonrise: 7:06 PM (EDT)
- Peak Fullness: 1:23 PM (already past peak by moonrise, but will look perfectly full).
- Where to Look: Low in the East-Southeast right at sunset.

🌕 May 31: The Blue Moon
- Moonrise: 8:43 PM (EDT)
- Peak Fullness: 4:45 AM
- Special Feature: This is a "Micromoon" (the opposite of a Supermoon), so it may appear slightly smaller and dimmer as it's at its farthest point from Earth.

For the best view of that "stunning" orange glow shown in your image, try to find a spot with a clear view of the eastern horizon (like Gantry Plaza State Park or along the Rockaway boardwalk) right as the moon rises. The atmosphere near the horizon is what creates those deep gold and reddish colors!
