I initially consulted with a different surgeon, but I was frustrated with how unresponsive and condescending she was. I followed my gut and decided to keep looking. From the first call with Dr Masouras’s office staff to schedule the consultation, I knew I found what I was looking for. The culture follows the attitude and care of the leader. During the initial consultation, Dr. Masouras took her time to explain my pathology results, potential treatment programs, and answer every question I had. She provided the information I needed and welcomed ongoing communication. She does this all day every day, but she and her team make you feel like the most important patient in the world. She doesn't make you feel silly for asking questions, nor does she pat your head and tell you not to worry. She's knowledgeable, honest, and straight-forward. She gives you the info you need to make informed decisions. Beyond all of that, she's kind and compassionate. Cancer is scary and it’s a long process. Don't settle for a surgeon who doesn't recognize that the emotional aspect is just as important as the physical. I cannot recommend Dr. Masouras highly enough. I am so fortunate to have found her.
