"This body is made of five fundamental elements – earth, water, fire, air, and space. The quality of your life essentially depends on how wonderful these five elements are within you."
- Sadhguru

This week we transition from late summer to autumn. In the late summer, the Earth element is at its peak, providing us with the nourishment and stability that grounds us in our very being.

On Thursday, experience this nourishment with Cesar at

The uncertainty of this hurricane and the potential damage coming our way makes us take the decision to close the studio for at least two days OR until the hurricane passes and it's safe to reopen.

The safety of our staff and students is the most important thing.

Please be safe and we'll see you soon.

This week at Naples Yoga Center we continue our journey through the 8 limbs of Yoga.
We'll be exploring the Niyamas, the second of the eight limbs of yoga.
The first Niyama is Saucha - often translated as " Purity - Cleanliness" , or purity of mind, body and speech.

We are getting ready to close the studio for a little "summer reset", so we hope to see you in as many classes as you can fit between today and Monday!!!

The best way to serve you is to be fully present in every class we teach and every project we share with you, and the only way to do that is by making sure we are taking time to reset, recharge, learn new skills and come back refreshed, fulfilled and ready for you.

See you on the mat. 😊🙌🙏

This week's focus at NYC:

Ahimsa - non violence, non harming. Restraint from actions, words, and thoughts that may cause harm to oneself or others.

Ahimsa is the first out of the five Yamas or ethical codes of conduct provided in the Yoga sutras as part of the eight limbs of Yoga.

In the political climate that we are living at this very moment in our country and around the world, it's important to pay attention to the way we conduct ourselves, and to the way our words, thoughts, and actions will affect those around us.

Let's explore this important concept during our time together this week.

This week's focus at NYC

Shanti:

Shanti is a Sanskrit word that carries the important meaning "peace." In mantra and chanting practices, shanti is often chanted three times to represent threefold peace in body, mind and spirit.

When we speak or hear the mantra Om Shanti Shanti Shanti, we invoke a sense of inner peace.

A peaceful inner world inspires us to be steadfast in our work for peace in our shared world.

This week's focus:

Mudita
Translated as Joy, or the Joy for the happiness and well-being of others.

Our asana practice is a space for introspection, but also a place to learn how to navigate the world and relate to others.

How is your practice helping you to feel genuine Joy for the well-being of others? How is your practice helping you in your interactions with those around you?.

Share with us. See you on the mat.

Moksha

This week in the United States we celebrate freedom and commemorate our Declaration of Independence.

The Sanskrit word Moksha means freedom and liberation. In yogic thought, if one attains Moksha, one is set free from the eternal cycle of birth and rebirth. It is therefore imperative for all human beings to try and achieve moksha. In our practice, we can take this complex understanding and turn it towards our present life. Every time something ends - a relationship, a job, an identity — other opportunities are soon reborn. The ‘freedom’ that arises from these cycles is when we learn to honor ourselves. Navigating this journey takes courage, devotion and compassion. In our powerful practice of yoga, we embody these qualities and remember who we are.

Happy Independence Day.
