As a marriage and family therapist, one of the core principles I work from is the understanding that healing doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in the context of relationships.
Our earliest relationships shape how we view ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we navigate the world. When those relationships are marked by safety, trust, and emotional attunement, they foster resilience and emotional well-being. When they’re marked by disconnection or harm, they can leave lasting emotional wounds.
Therapeutic relationships — and safe, supportive personal relationships — provide opportunities to experience new, healthier patterns of connection.
Through these interactions, we can:
✔️ Repair attachment wounds
✔️ Develop healthier boundaries
✔️ Build emotional regulation skills
✔️ Learn to trust and be vulnerable again
Relational healing is powerful because it reminds us that change is possible, and that we don’t have to do it alone.
If you’ve struggled in relationships or with feeling safe in connection, know that healing is possible — one relationship at a time.
