Have you ever been that girl>>>>>>

That girl that always wishes she has a skinnier waist, thinner thighs, whiter teeth or clearer skin.

I used to be that girl. I used to always wish I was skinnier or that my thighs didn’t touch each other, thanks to being a softball catcher for years that probably will never happen but I’m totally okay with that! It has taken me awhile to feel comfortable in my own skin.

But that is what this journey is about, finding how to feel confident in your own skin and not caring what other people think or say. I still sometimes have moments where I wonder why I ever cared what people thought of me.

My whole life I have always heard fat jokes or jokes about being built like a man. I let those jokes affect me every day. I allowed those people to get in my head and made me really believe what they were saying was true. But now I know that those people were insecure and felt they needed to take it out on someone else.

Those people are the reason that I am the way I am. The reason I am strong, the reason I push myself every day to become a better stronger person.

Be you!.....

During this journey I have been able to find myself, I’m able to laugh at myself and not care what others think of me. My journey is just that, MINE! and I went to the river front yesterday to enjoy the view and take some pictures. The pictures I have chosen are the pictures that show how awkward I can be when taking pictures but I felt good doing it and loved every second of it. At the beginning of this year you would have never caught me taking pictures out in public let alone posting the terrible ones on my social media. I’m proud of myself and how far I have come but I’m not done yet. @ Downtown Nashville

This post is the post that I have been dreading about since I have started my fitness journey. When I started this journey I had my doubts that it was going to change me. These photos are really hard for me to post but I know it is something I have to do to push myself to get even better. Posting these photos is truly one of my biggest fears. Making this post is to show the difference that just 3 1/2 months has made. The difference in these photos is not the 30lbs that I have lost but it is my mental state. I am so much more confident in myself and only doing this for ME!
That is what this journey is about, YOU! We all have to love our bodies and the amazing things it can do for us. The amazing things it does for us is why we have to take care of our bodies and give it what it needs. I did this just by moving my body for 30 minutes a day and just eating better than I was. I have a full-time job that has weird hours but I have made it a “no matter what” to find 30 minutes to move my body each day. I have so much more energy and I just feel all around better. I used to have stomach problems and just changing my diet just a little has helped so much already. I’m not saying that I’m perfect when it comes to this journey. I don’t always want to workout, I don’t always want to eat healthy (I love cookies and ice cream!) But I do know I feel better because of those 30 minutes each day. I do know that fueling my body makes me feel strong and energized.
Maybe you’re like me and you don’t know where to start, but you know you’re ready for a change. I would love to have you join me on this journey. I want to share this feeling with every person that I know, because it has completely changed my life.

Support Systems…….

This can be your friends and family or a group of people that hold you accountable for your action. For me I have both, but one of the biggest supporters is this girl right here. As my best friend and a huge part of my support system through this journey that I am on, she is that person that tells me what I NEED to hear, rather than what I WANT to hear. She pushes me daily to better myself to stay out of the hole I dug my way out of. But along with her I have a whole other family that pushes me and reminds me that I am on this journey for me and no one else. Without these people I have no clue where I would but I know it would be nowhere near where I am at now.

When I decided to start this journey I had no idea that I got an entire new support system when I become a coach. I want to be that support system for so many others, like I have had most of my life.

So I heard a quote tonight that said in my yoga workout. It was something along the lines of “you can’t stop the waves from coming in but you sure as hell can learn to surf.” This quote made me think of all the thing I have started and quit in my life because I didn’t know how to do it or I was to afraid. Now I know that I can tackle any that life throws at me!
