What is MOOP? Moop stands for “Matter Out Of Place”

The most commonly recorded MOOP at Burning Man in 2025 was lag bolts, stakes, and rebar (2,304), followed by plastic debris (1,204), cardboard/paper debris (826), assorted MOOP debris (688), wood (637), and metal debris like nails, screws, etc.
