5 Pregnancies in 7 years and I had my sweet Margot 21 months ago! I knew I had to do several things different this time to get back to a healthy weight.
⚡️Here is what I DID and DIDN’T do!
⚡️I threw away the timeline. I had a baby at 46, had been through long fertility struggles and wanted to give my body the time it needed to heal while also getting to a better place physically. This helped me take the stress and pressure off.
⚡️I didn’t set a goal weight. Guess what, if you are losing weight, you have never been this age, in this exact place in your career or even in this exact mindset. You have no idea where your body might land. Your body will tell you when it is time for maintenance!
⚡️No Calendar Counting. What’s that? You know, the times where you look at the calendar and see how many pounds you can lose per week in X amount of weeks? Why do we do this to ourselves! It’s a trap, don’t do it!!
⚡️This is what I did do!
⚡️Got the daily support I needed from our community CounterBalance. We need support outside of the home. Highly recommend finding a great community with people working towards the same goals.
⚡️I ate more food than I ever have in a weight loss phase and stayed in a MILD caloric deficit. It was easier to be consistent this way and gave me the energy to keep up with a little one while entering perimenopause! 😂😜
⚡️I didn’t go from 0-100. This is also a trap and causes burn out, diet fatigue and the roller coaster leaves us feeling like we are failing. I literally started on my walking pad after my C-Section for 5-10 minutes the first few weeks. It was all my brain could handle in the beginning.
⚡️I worked my CounterBalance Habit Stack and I only started with 2 habits. I then added to the stack as time went on. I got here with nutrition, exercise and consistency. No pills, shakes, shots or surgeries and I am not against anything that’s best for you!! I just get the ozempic question daily 😂.
⚡️I don’t do “meal plans”. I like variety 😂😜. I ate/eat food I like and find ways to add protein and fiber to my diet. We have to know how to cook, order and plan food realistically around multiple schedules, holidays and real life!
