I’m Sarah, founder of scout & pep, mixer of potions and maker of balms. I’m mama to three tiny ones and wife to a bearded man (who takes most of my product photos, aren’t they gorgeous?) I come from a big family of hardworking entrepreneurs, including my mother, a first-generation soap maker who built her successful small business from the ground up. She, along with the rest of my family, inspired me to begin this shop.

This little business started out of my own kitchen in California, where I took matters into my own hands after being frustrated with the products available to my family and I, which at the time included a toddler and a baby with very delicate and sensitive skin. After a few years of researching and tinkering, I've developed some products that I have found to be extremely soothing, effective, and best of all - clean. All ingredients in scout & pep products are carefully chosen for their unique healing and nourishing properties, along with how clean they are, meaning: NON-TOXIC - nothing that can cause harmful side effects (hormone disruption, cancer, skin-irritations, and beyond). A few of the things we’ll never use: parabens, phthalates, PEGs, ethanol amines, chemicals, synthetic fragrances, BHT, or BHAs. Yuck. The good news is Mother Nature has given us a BOUNTY of beneficial products to chose from that you can feel good about using on your skin. Oils, butters, and extracts that are harvested with integrity, by companies who have a passion for taking care of our bodies, our planet, and the communities of people living on it. 🌏

Our products are not just for women or children, but for anyone who wants to take great care of their skin and have the peace of mind that they aren't polluting their bodies with icky chemicals. For example, our face oil is widely loved by men and women alike -- my bearded husband is actually the one who has asked me more than anyone for "more of that oil." I've had countless customers tell me their male partners steal their bottle to apply it on their own faces each night.

Nowadays there are so many incredible companies making clean beauty and nontoxic skincare products, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to throw my little concoctions into the mix. I’m thankful for the opportunity to share what I’ve been developing for all these years with this supportive community!q
