HIIII, I’M BACK🌈💖✨

Long time, no see Insta… I have been on a wild ride for a while now and haven’t had (or more accurately, haven’t *made*) time for making things like I used to. 😅

However I moved into a new place a little while back that had a singular Reishi mushroom that I was able to turn into my own little reliable Reishi garden. Having my hands in the dirt with one of my favorite healers nurtured a part of me that I didn’t even realize had been neglected and has inspired me start making medicines again🥰

I made a potent batch of Fire Cider using some of the Reishi and herbs from my garden that I grew myself a few days ago. Should have started it sooner so it would be ready now, but there’s always next year I guess 😂

Long story short, I’m thinking of organizing a Fire Cider making class in the local Raleigh, NC area to help teach others about this tried and true Appalachian remedy! Regardless of if you’re in the area or not, comment and let me know if an event like this is something you’d enjoy participating in within your own community or leave an idea you think would go well with it 😊✨

I’ve bottled a few tinctures that I will be running a sale on in the following days... 🗣SO STAY TUNED! 💥

I will be restocking my self-foraged pine pollen tinctures (which will be significantly stronger than the batch I made last year). I will also be stocking the Reishi tincture I made from the mushrooms I foraged and posted about on my page previously. I will also have a very limited number of Lions Mane tinctures and various blends I made. ✨

I’ll make a post every few days. Baring in mind I only have a limited number of each one, keep an eye out for the posts so you can be the first to grab the tinctures from my Etsy shop(which will be updated as soon as my Instagram posts are made). 🌈💕

Hit the jackpot by randomly stumbling upon some Reishi mushroom on an Oak tree in Alabama! This particular specimen is Ganoderma sessile which I carefully ID’ed & excitedly foraged. ✨

Reishi is known as the “Queen Healer” and “Mushroom of Immortality”. It’s benefits have been a blessing to humanity for at least 4,000 years. Native to Asia, Europe, and North America, there are many species of Ganoderma that can be found on dead/rotting deciduous trees. This particular species is commonly found throughout the wet months of late summer and early fall on oak trees in southeastern USA. 🌳

As far as those blessings I mentioned, Reishi is an adaptogenic mushroom. That means it helps your body adapt to and cope with stress- both physical and mental. With this in mind, it is widely known and appreciated as a Shen Tonic for spiritual nourishment. It’s said to provide mental clarity, stress relief, heart protection, and longevity. 🙏🏼

Reishi contains scientifically proven immune boosting & anti-cancer properties which are often utilized in eastern medicine- but western practitioners have been catching on as well.👌🏽

The list of why this mushroom is important and impressive goes on and on, but the things I mentioned are just my personal favorite qualities! I will either be drying it out for medicinal use or trying my hand at making a mushroom tincture... Either way stay tuned to see what medicine this beauty becomes! 🌈

SHOP UPDATE:

A kind friend has informed me of the fact that indigenous cultures take offense to the use of the phrase “smudging” so I have decided to rename my sets “Smoke Cleansing Sets” out of respect for sacred native communities.

Due to the colonization of native societies world-wide and the ensuing gentrification of their sacred cultures, having a name which disrespects the healing nature of the practice of Smoke cleansing & clearing is not something I want to promote. I am grateful of the opportunity to learn and to grow and I appreciate being held accountable for ignorance 🙏🏼
