Tax season reminder that most self-employed people miss:
💡 Your health insurance premium may be 100% tax deductible.
If you're self-employed and not covered by an employer-sponsored plan (through a spouse, for example), the IRS allows you to deduct what you pay for health, dental, and vision insurance — for yourself AND your family.
This changes the real cost calculation significantly.
Example:
🔹 Monthly premium: $350
🔹 Annual cost: $4,200
🔹 At a 22% tax bracket: You save ~$924
🔹 Real out-of-pocket cost: ~$3,276/year = $273/month
That's a very different number than the sticker price.
If you've been avoiding coverage because of cost — let's run the actual numbers for your situation, including what you may qualify for in subsidies AND what you can write off.
The right plan might cost far less than you think.
