After two months at home, Dad has made major progress. This week he started walking with a cane, which is huge considering that just two months ago he couldn’t even take three steps with a walker.
After 2 months, he’s also now going to dialysis by car, bye-bye ambulance! Rhonda takes him three days a week, and she is an absolute rock star.
We were able to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas at home and truly soaked up every minute together. Dad’s goal was to come to my house on Christmas morning to watch Lennon open her Santa gifts and play with them all day, and of course, he reached that goal. Best Christmas ever ❤️
Dad has two upcoming surgeries:
• February 26: He will have a defibrillator implanted under his arm. He has been wearing a LifeVest since his ICU stay in case of another emergency. We hope it never has to be used, but we feel this is the safest option moving forward.
• March 5: He will undergo vein reconstruction for dialysis, also in his arm. This may eventually allow him to do dialysis at home. The healing process can take up to six months.
Please continue to pray for Dad’s progress. Right now he is battling low blood pressure, which is wild considering that before surgery he was on three different medications to keep it down. Now the challenge is keeping it up.
We are so grateful for all the love, prayers, and support over these past months. Dad truly appreciates every single one of you, and so do we.
