We are sad to announce that after much prayer, thought and discussion, Daniel and I have decided that effective May 2, 2026, to close Soaring Eagle at least temporarily. We do not have enough to continue to finance the house without greater occupancy.
We poured everything we had into this and wanted it to be a blessing to all that came through the doors. Our vision of helping those AND their families in their sober journeys has not died. We will regroup and see if we can open again in the future.
We would like to thank everyone for the prayers and encouragement throughout this time.
We know that this is not goodbye. It’s just what needs to happen right now. We opened the house with our own private funds and there is just a limit to how much we have before there’s nothing left and no way to provide the necessary resources for the home without enough paying residents. We want you all to know we did everything we knew how to do and hung on as long as we possibly could. We really believe this area needs a home like the one we have provided.

We are proud to say that we welcome those in recovery who have children. Part of the sober journey is the reuniting and rebuilding of family. Our sober home is available to do that.
It wasn’t how we began this journey with Soaring Eagle Sober Living but it’s how God has moved and so that’s what it is.
If you are in recovery and have a child that you visit or have shared custody with, talk to us and see if we are a good fit for one another.
There’s something truly special about living in community with family to live the life you want.

Good neighbors.
An important part of our home is our drive to be the best neighbors on the block. We try! The house is clean inside and out. We are kind and helpful to those living next to and across from us and are always willing to lend a hand.
We understand that not everyone is going to be excited to have us as their neighbors. Fear and ignorance of who we are and what we are about is understandable. A few people may hear about our sober home and think it’s a rehab facility or a place for drug use or folks who may not be of the best character. If they don’t take the opportunity to come ask us questions and be informed with the truth of our vision and the truth of what we are really about, there’s not much we can do except keep being good neighbors. I’m pretty sure the Bible says to love your neighbor and help those who need it. We are going to keep doing that! Love will prevail.

Sober Super Bowl.
The Soaring Eagles met up to hang out on Super Bowl Sunday. The kiddos (AKA the Junior Eagles) ran amok and had epic Nerf wars.
There was enough food to feed a small army.
The game was on but honestly it wasn’t the focus.
We just enjoy spending time together.
We are all about family. We are all about friendships. You’re always welcome here.

Super Bowl Sunday. If you find it’s a difficult day to be and stay sober and you need to find a place to watch the game and be with others please reach out. There’s such a sense of gratitude I have for our men’s home leadership. They’re building something greater than just a home. It’s not a place to just lay your head but rather, they are building a family. And rebuilding family.
Watching these men with the young children in their lives is a joy. Seeing how much pride they take in the home and our vision every day inspires me. They truly want to make a difference and they are.
We have an intern who has entered our fold. He’s a student from NSU and will be with us this semester. We are excited to have him and welcome him to the family!

Good morning!
We have temporarily closed the women’s home and will re open in the future when a property in Natchitoches is found.
The residents there were placed in nearby facilities and nobody was displaced.
It is vital that our home is run with integrity and is a safe, uplifting place for all who come. That is always non negotiable.

Last Saturday Soaring Eagle had its first social get together. We had a cookout, nerf war and an outdoor movie with s’mores. Everyone truly had a great time. Our kids all came and got to play with one another. Good food. Great company. The beginning of great friendships for us all.
Coming together with others who get where you’re at and where you want to go is important for those in recovery. And their significant others who also need to meet other significant others of those in recovery. And the kids. They need one another too.
We are so happy that our Soaring Eagle homes are not only a safe and positive place for the one in recovery, but the whole family. Spouses, parents, children, grandkids. We are all in it together.
Together we soar!
